Concrete tiles are a very popular roofing material, but over time they can lose their color and become overgrown with moss. If the tiles aren't cracked and the roof isn't leaking, there's no need to replace them—they can be easily washed and repainted! After this treatment, the roof looks brand new and is protected against moss regrowth. The coating is hydrophobic, preventing dirt from adhering and washing away easily with rain. Below is a step-by-step description of the complete system.

Roof cleaning and renovation - step by step

Step 1 – Clean the surface with Sulfanol A using a brush or pressure washer, then rinse thoroughly with water (any residue left behind may impair paint adhesion). This will help remove atmospheric and other contaminants. The product is biodegradable, so there's no need to worry if it runs down gutters and into the ground.

Step 2 GrzyboStop fungicidal product 24 hours before priming . Even if the fungi are removed from the surface after high-pressure washing and are no longer visible to the naked eye, their spores will still remain in the pores. Over time, they will begin to grow back, breaking through the paint and causing it to peel.

Step 3 – After 24 hours, prime the surface with Sil-Grunt diluted with tap water at a 1:1 ratio. Thanks to its extremely small units, the agent penetrates deep into porous substrates, sealing them, stabilizing them, and improving the adhesion of the topcoat. Primer should not be added to the paint. Proper priming always has a significant impact on the durability and quality of the topcoat. Furthermore, paint consumption will be higher on an unprimed substrate.

Step 4 – 2 hours after applying the primer, apply of Acrylic-Silicone Paint to the roof tiles, spaced 24 hours apart. Do not dilute with excessive water to increase efficiency! If excessive absorption into the substrate is observed after starting the painting process (so-called "substrate drinking"), stop painting and repeat the priming. The resulting coating on the roof tiles should be at least 0.1 mm (100 microns) thick. Too thin a coating will not provide sufficient protection and will reduce the durability of the paint.
