Neoproof Polyurea R is a two-component, extremely durable polyurea waterproofing membrane for cold application by brush, roller or airless spray. For use on roofs, balconies and terraces , where mechanical resistance and excellent waterproof properties are required. The liquid waterproofing coating creates a smooth (bubble-free), moisture-impermeable polyurea insulation with zero water absorption and resistance to mechanical damage. Created on the basis of aliphatic resins, it is fully resistant to UV radiation and does not require the use of additional topcoats . It can also be used on terraces and balconies, but we recommend additional covering with a topcoat of Neodur FT Elastic or Troken Stone + Floortop 1K to make it easier to keep clean. Rain may fall on the coating just 1 hour after application, so the product can be used in uncertain weather conditions.
Neoproof Polyurea R liquid roofing membrane is a product that has been successfully tested and assessed for root resistance (according to CEN/TS 14416:2014 ) and certified for fire resistance according to EN 13501-5 . Moreover, Polyurea R is classified as Broof (t1) and has certified Cool Roof properties (Cool Material ).
The liquid waterproofing membrane can be applied to various substrates, using an appropriate primer (read more "System primers").
The available colors of Neopoof Polurea R are white, pyrite ash (RAL 7040), oxide red (RAL 3009) and mahogany brown (RAL 8016). Choosing light colors, such as white or gray , will allow us to obtain maximum benefits - excellent waterproofing and improving the energy efficiency of the building. However, if the environmental conditions do not allow the use of light colors, you can choose a color that suits the design conditions . Regardless of whether you choose the color red oxide (RAL 3009) or mahogany brown (RAL 8016), you will receive a durable waterproof coating.
Primers should be used in accordance with their technical data sheets.
Papa – apply Neoproof Polyurea directly, without primer. Neotextile NP reinforcing fabric .
Concrete/cementitious substrates: Acqua Primer NP - basic primer, however, due to the fact that it is water-soluble, it requires good weather conditions. Max. permissible substrate humidity: 8%. Time to repaint: 24 hours. Epoxol Primer – in unfavorable weather conditions (high air humidity, low temperature), we recommend using a solvent-based epoxy primer. Max. permissible substrate humidity: 4%. Time to repaint: 24 hours. Neodur Fast Track PR - for projects where time is of the essence and must be completed quickly. Max. permissible substrate humidity: 4%. Time to repaint: 2 hours. Neopox Primer WS - fresh concrete (minimum 2 weeks) or damp from rain, washing, etc. (the moisture comes from the outside, not from the ground), there is no time to dry the substrate. Max. permissible substrate humidity: <100%. Time to repaint: 24 hours Neopox Primer AY - if there is a problem with capillary rising of moisture from the ground (e.g. terrace on the ground with poorly made or no insulation). Max. permissible substrate humidity: 10-12%. Time to repaint: 24 hours
Black steel - Neopox Primer 815 . Neodur Metalforce rust remover 24 hours before priming .
Steel or other metal, but already painted with e.g. polyurethane or polyvinyl paint - high-gloss coatings should be matt. The substrate must be thoroughly washed with water under pressure and dried. Neoproof Polyurea can then be applied directly. If "bare" metal is discovered somewhere, these places must be properly primed. Neodur Metalforce rust remover 24 hours before priming .
Steel is factory-coated with a polyester coating - the substrate must be matt and washed with water under pressure. After drying, prime with Neopox Primer 815 . Neodur Metalforce rust remover 24 hours before priming .
Galvanized steel, aluminum - Neotex Inox Primer . Corrosion spots should be protected with Top-Kor .
PUR foam, new in good condition, closed cell - apply directly, without primer. The foam should have a relatively even surface so that the Neoproof Polyurea does not flow into the grooves, otherwise bubbles will form locally (the solvent will try to release itself). Apply in two layers, not very thick, each 0.6 kg/m2. If there are shiny places on the foam, they need to be matt and apply Acqua Primer NP , similarly if there are any places with open pores.
PUR foam, old and in poor condition, open cells - Acqua Primer NP .
Old elastomeric coatings/membranes, such as Neoroof and Neoproof PU W-40 - wash thoroughly with water under pressure, dry and apply Neoproof Polyurea directly.
Wood - a wooden structure must be stiff and must not bend too much. Use Epoxol Primer . If the wood is highly absorbent, further priming may be necessary (after the first priming, the wood will absorb everything and will still be dull or unevenly polished).
PVC membranes - washing the substrate with THF, MEK or Neotex 1021 (in this order, from the most effective to the slowest). After slightly dissolving the membrane, apply Neoproof Polyurea directly onto the slightly sticky PVC membrane.
Hot-applied aromatic polyurea - Relatively new, in good condition - matt to remove shine, remove dust after mattifying and apply directly. Old one that has started to chalk - wash it under pressure to remove the chalking products, then apply it directly. Covered with a polyurethane membrane that protects against UV - wash with water under pressure and apply directly.
Tiles, glossy polished concrete RO3333 adhesive primer .
