NEOPROOF POLYUREA R polyurea waterproofing for the roof, terrace or balcony
Neoproof Polyurea R is a two-component, extremely durable polyurea waterproofing membrane for cold application by brush, roller, or airless spray. For use on roofs, balconies, and terraces where mechanical resistance and excellent waterproofing properties are required. This liquid waterproofing coating creates a smooth (bubble-free), moisture-impermeable polyurea insulation, exhibiting zero water absorption and resistance to mechanical damage. Based on aliphatic resins, it is fully UV-resistant and requires no additional topcoats . It can also be used on terraces and balconies, but we recommend additional sealing with a topcoat of Neodur FT Elastic or Troken Stone + Floortop 1K for easier cleaning. Rain can fall on the coating within 1 hour of application, making the product suitable for use in unpredictable weather conditions.
Neoproof Polyurea R liquid roof membrane has been successfully tested and assessed for resistance to root penetration (according to CEN/TS 14416:2014 ) and certified for fire resistance in accordance with EN 13501-5 . Furthermore, Polyurea R is classified as Broof (t1) and has certified "Cool Material" .
Neoproof Polyurea R has a European Technical Assessment (ETA 24/1247) and is classified in accordance with EAD 030350-00-0402 as a product with the highest durability class W3, confirming its expected service life of up to 25 years for both unreinforced (1 mm) and reinforced (1.2 mm) systems. The waterproofing membrane has been tested for performance on various substrates, including: incompressible - concrete, steel - andcompressible - bituminous membranes (felt, PU foam, etc.).
Neoproof Polyurea R polyurea waterproofing - applications
The liquid waterproofing membrane can be applied to a variety of substrates using an appropriate primer (read more "Systemic primers").

Before and after effect - Neoproof Polyurea R polyurea waterproofing membrane on a 10,000 m2 roof:
Choose the color of your polyurea waterproofing to suit your project requirements!
Available Neopoof Polyurea R colors include white, pyrite ash (RAL 7040), red oxide (RAL 3009), and mahogany brown (RAL 8016). Choosing light colors like white or gray will maximize the benefits of excellent waterproofing and improved energy efficiency. However, if environmental conditions prevent the use of light colors, you can choose a color that best suits the project . Whether you choose red oxide (RAL 3009) or mahogany brown (RAL 8016), you'll receive a durable, waterproof coating.
Systemic primers depending on the substrate to which Neoproof Polyurea R will be applied
Primers should be used in accordance with their technical data sheets.
Roofing felt – apply Neoproof Polyurea directly, without a primer. For larger cracks, joints, or unevenness, use Neotextile NP .
Concrete/cementitious substrates:Acqua Primer NP - base primer, however, due to its water-soluble nature, it requires favorable weather conditions. Max. permissible substrate moisture content: 8%. Recoating time: 24 hours. Epoxol Primer – in unfavorable weather conditions (high humidity, low temperature), we recommend using a solvent-based epoxy primer. Max. permissible substrate moisture content: 4%. Recoating time: 24 hours. Neodur Fast Track PR - for projects where time is of the essence and must be completed quickly. Max. permissible substrate moisture content: 4%. Recoating time: 2 hours. Neopox Primer WS - fresh concrete (minimum 2 weeks) or damp from rainfall, washing, etc. (moisture comes from the outside, not the ground), there is no time for the substrate to dry. Max. permissible substrate moisture content: <100%. Time to repaint: 24 hours Neopox Primer AY - if there is a problem with capillary moisture rising from the ground (e.g. terrace on ground with poorly executed or no insulation). Maximum permissible substrate moisture: 10-12%. Time to repaint: 24 hours
Steel or other metal already painted, for example with polyurethane or polyvinyl paintNeodur Metalforce rust remover 24 hours before priming .
Steel factory-coated with a polyester coating – the surface should be roughened and washed with high-pressure water. After drying, prime with Neopox Primer 815.Neodur Metalforce rust remover for 24 hours before priming .
PUR foam, new and in good condition, closed-cell – apply directly, without primer. The foam should have a relatively even surface to prevent the Neoproof Polyurea from flowing into the grooves, as this will cause localized bubbles (the solvent will try to escape). Apply two layers, not too thick, each at 0.6 kg/m². If there are glossy areas on the foam, buff them and apply Acqua Primer NP . The same applies to any areas with open pores.
PUR foam, old in poor condition, open cells - Acqua Primer NP .
Old elastomeric coatings/membranes, such as Neoroof and Neoproof PU W-40 - thoroughly wash with water under pressure, dry and apply Neoproof Polyurea directly.
Wood – the wooden structure must be rigid and not bend excessively. Use Epoxol Primer . If the wood is highly absorbent, additional priming may be necessary (after the first priming, the wood will absorb everything and will remain dull or unevenly glossy).
PVC membranes - wash the substrate with THF, MEK, or Neotex 1021 (in this order, from most effective to slowest). After slightly dissolving the membrane, apply Neoproof Polyurea directly to the slightly sticky PVC membrane.
Hot-applied aromatic polyurea - Relatively new, in good condition - buff to remove shine, remove dust after buffing, and apply directly. Older, chalky surfaces - pressure-wash to remove chalking residue, then apply directly. Coated with a polyurethane membrane for UV protection - pressure-wash and apply directly.
