When investing in concrete roof tiles, a stone fence or a brick facade, we want the materials we choose to look good and aesthetic for many years. This is where hydrophobization comes in handy. We apply a non-polar substance to a given surface, it creates a coating invisible to the human eye that repels water molecules. Even high-quality and top-shelf materials may lose their original appearance and, most importantly, durability over time. That's why it's worth protecting them!

Hydrophobization protects porous mineral substrates such as concrete, brick, natural stone, limestone or sandstone.

These are the most popular building materials used indoors and outdoors. Undeniably, materials used outdoors require protection - they are exposed to changing weather conditions, including rainfall. Thanks to the porous structure, in addition to moisture, all dirt and contaminants are absorbed, which unfortunately affects the degradation and appearance of the substrate. A porous and moist substrate is also an ideal environment for the development of mosses and lichens. Rainfall penetrating the ground also generates cracks caused by frost.

Materials on which Silimper Nano and Silimper Nano LM can be used

A hydrophobic impregnation will ensure durability of mineral materials

Are we able to protect this type of substrates against harmful factors and thus extend their durability and ensure their aesthetic appearance for a long time? Absolutely - using Silimper Nano, hydrophobic impregnation based on nanotechnology. What distinguishes this product is its nano-molecular structure , thanks to which it deeply penetrates the substrate. In this way, it fills its pores and, thanks to chemical bonding, gives it hydrophobic properties, protecting it against moisture and pollution. In terms of aesthetics - the applied impregnation does not change the appearance and color of the substrate.

Silimper Nano and Silimper Nano LM

Thanks to Silimper Nano, you can effectively impregnate elements made of concrete, brick and stone

Advantages of the Silimper Nano silane-siloxane impregnation:

  • due to its nano-molecular structure, it deeply penetrates the substrate and protects it against water,
  • chemically binds to the substrate ensuring long-lasting hydrophobic effect,
  • ensures hydrophobicity in a short time after application (fully hardened after 24 hours at 25 ° C),
  • prevents rain from penetrating into the substrate, thus protecting the substrate against cracks caused by frost,
  • alkali resistant,
  • protects against efflorescence,
  • supports the insulating properties of the material by reducing heat conduction,
  • it is vapor permeable and allows the substrate to breathe,
  • reduces the adhesion of dirt and limits the growth of moss and fungi on the surface, making cleaning the surface quicker and easier,
  • does not create an adhesive silicone layer on the surface,
  • does not change the appearance and color of the substrate,
  • very low theoretical consumption 100-200 ml/m 2 (consumption depends on the application method and the absorbency of the substrate),
  • usually one layer is sufficient, in the case of very absorbent substrates two layers are required,
  • does not contain solvents and volatile organic compounds (VOC),
  • water-based product – pleasant to apply,
  • for use on vertical or inclined surfaces.

Choose the right type of product for the substrate

The product is available in two versions:

  • Silimper Nano – for concrete, brick, cement roof tiles, asbestos-cement,
  • Silimper Nano LM – fluorinated impregnation, can be used for all the above surfaces and for natural stone such as sandstone, limestone or porous marble.

The Silimper Nano LM impregnation additionally gives the substrate oleophobic , i.e. protects against the penetration of oils.

Longer durability and economical solution

Regardless of whether we want to protect brick facades or a concrete ceiling in an industrial room - it is worth additionally protecting the substrate with a nano-molecular impregnation Silimper Nano or Silimper Nano LM. Compared to the entire project, it is a low cost, and thanks to its hydrophobic properties, we protect the substrate against moisture and contamination, which directly translates into a longer durability of the material and allows it to maintain its original appearance for as long as possible.

Are you looking for a hydrophobic impregnation that will work in demanding conditions?

To protect concrete floors or places constantly exposed to contact with water (e.g. shower) and dirt (e.g. staircase paneling), we recommend using the Neodur Varnish varnish , which is characterized by high mechanical and chemical resistance and creates a fully tight coating .

Appropriate protection of the material will ensure durability for years

The products presented above are high-quality professional impregnations for concrete, walls and facades that can cope with the most difficult conditions.
