When investing in concrete roof tiles, stone fencing, or brick facades, we want our chosen materials to look good and aesthetically pleasing for many years. This is where hydrophobic treatment comes in. We apply a non-polar substance to the surface, creating a coating invisible to the human eye that repels water molecules. Even high-quality, top-shelf materials can lose their original appearance over time, and most importantly, their durability. That's why it's worth protecting them!

Hydrophobization protects porous mineral substrates such as concrete, brick, natural stone, limestone or sandstone.

These are the most popular building materials used both indoors and outdoors. Undeniably, outdoor materials require protection above all else – they are exposed to changing weather conditions, including rainfall. Their porous structure absorbs all kinds of dirt and contaminants, which unfortunately affects the degradation and appearance of the substrate. Porous and damp substrates are also an ideal environment for the growth of mosses and lichens. Rainwater penetrating the substrate also causes frost cracks.

Materials on which Silimper Nano and Silimper Nano LM can be used

Hydrophobic impregnation will ensure the durability of mineral materials

Can we protect these types of substrates from harmful factors, thus extending their durability and ensuring a long-lasting aesthetic? Absolutely – using the Silimper Nano hydrophobic impregnation based on nanotechnology. What sets this product apart is its nano-molecular structure , which allows it to deeply penetrate the substrate. This fills its pores and, through chemical bonding, gives it hydrophobic properties, protecting it from moisture and contaminants. Aesthetically, the applied impregnation does not alter the appearance or color of the substrate.

Silimper Nano and Silimper Nano LM

Thanks to Silimper Nano, you can effectively impregnate concrete, brick and stone elements

Advantages of the Silimper Nano silane-siloxane impregnator:

  • Due to its nano-molecular structure, it deeply penetrates the substrate and protects it against water,
  • chemically binds to the substrate, ensuring long-lasting hydrophobic effect,
  • ensures hydrophobicity within a short time after application (full hardening after 24 hours at 25 ° C),
  • prevents rain from penetrating the substrate, thus protecting the substrate against cracks caused by frost,
  • alkali resistant,
  • protects against efflorescence,
  • supports the insulating properties of the material by reducing heat conduction,
  • is vapor-permeable and allows the substrate to breathe,
  • reduces dirt adhesion and limits the growth of moss and fungi on the surface, making cleaning of surfaces faster and easier,
  • does not create a sticky, silicone layer on the surface,
  • does not change the appearance and color of the substrate,
  • very low theoretical consumption 100-200 ml/m2 ( consumption depends on the application method and the absorbency of the substrate),
  • one layer is usually sufficient, in the case of very absorbent substrates two layers are required,
  • does not contain solvents and volatile organic compounds (VOCs),
  • water-based product – pleasant to apply,
  • for use on vertical or inclined surfaces.

Choose the right type of product for the substrate

The product is available in two versions:

  • Silimper Nano – for concrete, brick, cement roof tiles, asbestos cement,
  • Silimper Nano LM – fluorinated impregnator, can be used on all the above surfaces and on natural stone such as sandstone, limestone or porous marble.

The Silimper Nano LM impregnation additionally gives the substrate oleophobic , i.e. protects against the penetration of oils.

Longer durability and economical solution

Whether you're protecting a brick facade or a concrete ceiling in an industrial space, it's worth further protecting the surface with the nano-molecular impregnation Silimper Nano or Silimper Nano LM. Compared to the overall project, this is a small investment, and thanks to its hydrophobic properties, it protects the surface from moisture and contamination, which directly translates into a longer durability of the material and allows it to maintain its original appearance for as long as possible.

Are you looking for a hydrophobic impregnation that will perform well in demanding conditions?

To protect concrete floors or places constantly exposed to water (e.g. shower) and dirt (e.g. stairwell paneling), we recommend using Neodur Varnish varnish , which is characterized by high mechanical and chemical resistance and creates a fully sealed coating.

Proper protection of the material will ensure durability for years

The products presented above are high-quality, professional sealers for concrete, walls, and facades that can withstand the harshest conditions. If you're unsure whether Silimper Nano will work for you, please contact us . We'll be happy to advise you on the best solution for your situation.
