Anti-slip flooring is used in multi-car garages, stairs, driveways, and pedestrian walkways, among other places. It ensures user safety, especially where water, such as from melting snow, may be present on the floor. Below, we present a description of possible solutions.

Two-component chemically curing resins + quartz sand topping.

The basic way to achieve an anti-slip coating on a floor is to wet-dust the paint with quartz sand . This produces the best results, and we recommend this method especially for heavily used areas such as garages, stairs, or sidewalks. The effect depends on how densely the quartz sand and its granulation.

The general procedure is as follows:

  • if the paint requires the use of a primer, we apply it first
  • we apply the first coat of paint after the appropriate time has passed since applying the primer
  • when the first layer is still wet, sprinkle it with quartz sand
  • After the first layer has dried, thoroughly sweep or vacuum the excess sand
  • we apply the second layer, but remember that paint consumption will be higher due to the addition of sand
neodur fast track anti-slip

Neodur Fast Track paint fully filled with fine quartz sand with granulation of 0.1 – 0.5 mm.

neopox special anti-slip

Neopox Special paint fully filled with coarse quartz sand with granulation of 0.8 – 1.2 mm.

Products that can be used for such a solution:

Neopox Special

A two-component, solvent-based epoxy paint for interior use (epoxy paints are not resistant to sunlight). It has a glossy finish. Used for floors in industrial halls and warehouses, it offers very high chemical and mechanical resistance. Apply the second coat 24 hours after applying the first coat. The coating reaches full mechanical and chemical hardening after 7 days; before this time, it cannot be washed with water or other cleaning agents.

Neodur Special

A two-component, solvent-based polyurethane paint, available in the full RAL color palette. Suitable for both interior and exterior use, it has a glossy finish and is easily washable. Like Neopox Special, it requires 7 days to fully cure.

Neodur Fast Track

An innovative, fast-drying, two-component, solvent-based polyurea paint. It creates glossy coatings that are more resistant than epoxy and polyurethane paints. The paint can also be used outdoors. Subsequent coats can be applied every 2-3 hours. The floor can be walked on (light pedestrian traffic) 3 hours after applying the final coat. After 24 hours, it can be exposed to heavy traffic (including forklifts) and cleaned with cleaning agents.

Paints with anti-slip properties.

For lighter loads, you can choose products certified for anti-slip properties. These coatings do not require additional sanding. We can choose from:

eco-Farpos

Water-based, single-component acrylic floor paint for light/medium traffic. Suitable for interior and exterior use. This single-component product offers abrasion resistance similar to two-component epoxy floor paints.

FEG-B

A two-component, solvent-based epoxy paint. With appropriate coating thickness, it can be used on floors exposed to heavy traffic. For interior applications.

Eco-Farpos and FEG-B paints have been positively assessed by an accredited laboratory for anti-slip properties according to DIN 51130:2004-06 and DIN V 18032-2:2001-04.

The final assessment of the tests carried out with the above-mentioned paints determines that they meet the class R12 requirement of the DIN 51130 standard, which means that they can be used in the following types of rooms:

  • dry rooms inside buildings
  • entrances to zones and stairs with access from the outside,
  • restaurants, shops, clinics, hospitals and schools
  • bathrooms and showers, small kitchens, underground garages
  • rooms for the production of gastronomic food (preparing food catering), laboratories, laundries, hangars
  • production rooms using fats, milk, dairy products, oils and meats, industrial production rooms using slippery substances as well as parking lots and terraces

Another final assessment of the tests carried out with the above-mentioned paints determines compliance with the slip coefficient requirement according to the DIN V 18032-2:2001-04 standard, which in practice means that these paints can be used to paint the following floors:

  • in sports halls and gymnasiums
  • indoor sports fields
  • dance halls
RO2400 Anti-Slip Spray Paint

Anti-slip spray

RO2400 Antislip is the least durable protection, typically used in low-traffic areas. The spray creates a rubbery coating and can be applied directly to a variety of surfaces, both indoors and outdoors.
