Paints used in health care are subject to high hygiene requirements. They should be resistant to frequent hygiene treatments, have bactericidal properties, and at the same time provide an aesthetic surface finish. The solutions we offer have PZH certificates and meet the standards necessary in health care.

Most surfaces in such rooms can only be painted with products that can be washed and disinfected later. This is regulated by the regulation of the Minister of Health of June 26, 2012 (Journal of Laws 2012, item 739 of June 29, 2012) on detailed requirements to be met by the premises and equipment of an entity performing medical activities. Facilities that are subject to increased use place high demands on construction chemicals.

For facades and other rooms not covered by stricter regulations, we recommend products from our offer: interior paints (acrylic, latex, ceramic), facade paints (acrylic, silicone, silicate), putties  , primers , etc.

Photocatalytic paints

Photocatalytic paints are a group of paints whose coating cleanses its coating and the surroundings under the influence of light (natural and artificial). Atmospheric pollutants oxidize when they come into contact with painted surfaces.

Our offer includes:

  • Titanium LX Ag  – latex paint with silver nanoparticles, thanks to which the paint has bactericidal and fungicidal properties throughout the entire thickness of its coating. This means that these properties are retained even after several cleaning cycles. The biocidal effect has been confirmed by laboratory tests. The paint has class 1 scrubbability (the highest), making its surface washable. It has biocidal properties, which has been confirmed by laboratory tests.
  • Titanium IN  – acrylic paint, recommended for painting places not exposed to frequent dirt, e.g. ceilings, surfaces above wainscoting.

Properties

  • They remove impurities
  • They remove unpleasant odors
  • They purify the air
  • They limit the growth of bacteria and mold
  • They are antiallergic
  • Easy to apply

Other hygienic paints

  • Epimal LX – water-based epoxy paint, resistant to wet cleaning. For use wherever surfaces are subjected to frequent cleaning. It has biocidal properties, which has been confirmed by laboratory tests.
  • Latex LX – hygienic latex paint with silver nanoparticles. It has biocidal properties, which has been confirmed by laboratory tests.

Dust cleanliness classes in clean rooms and zones

Rooms in health care facilities are the so-called "cleanroom"

These rooms are always equipped with air conditioning devices with a special filter system that eliminates subsequent fractions of pollutants. The air is constantly filtered by HEPA filters, which remove all pollutants occurring inside the rooms. Equipment located in these rooms cannot generate additional pollution.

This also applies to paint coatings - paints used in clean rooms should be tested in accordance with the PN-EN ISO 14644:2005 standard. The tests determine what dust pollution the paint coating generates. If it is lower than permissible in a given ISO class, the paint can be used in rooms of this class.

Latex LX, Titanium LX Ag and Epimal LX paints are classified in ISO class 5

Coatings made with the above-mentioned paints are materials that allow them to be washed and disinfected. They are resistant to many chemical agents (commonly used disinfectants) and resistant to abrasion and other mechanical damage. They are classified in accordance with the PN-EN 13300:2002 standard into class I of wet scrubbing resistance. The resistance of coatings to microorganisms (bacteria and fungi) has been confirmed by tests performed in a specialized microbiological laboratory. In addition to standard strains, strains isolated from Polish hospitals were also used for testing. Coatings retain their protective properties throughout the entire period of use.

Latex LX, Titanium LX Ag and Epimal LX paints can be used in healthcare facilities that require air purity class ISO 5 according to ISO 14644-1. This is confirmed by report No. 01888/14/Z00NF from tests carried out at the Building Research Institute. ISO class 5 corresponds to purity classes A and B, in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Health of November 7, 2015 on the requirements of Good Manufacturing Practice (Journal of Laws 2015, item 1979), based on the GMP/PIC-Guide guidelines.

Titanium LX Ag – photocatalytic, latex bactericidal paint with silver ions

Titanium LX Ag photocatalytic paint is a water-soluble latex paint containing silver nanoparticles that give the product bactericidal and fungicidal properties. As a result of the photocatalytic process taking place in the presence of light and oxygen (contained in the air), atmospheric pollutants that come into contact with painted surfaces are oxidized, transforming into substances that are harmless to health and the natural environment.

Features:

  • The product is effective in removing gaseous pollutants such as: tobacco smoke, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide (carbon monoxide), nitrogen oxides, aldehyde vapors, alcohols (methanol, ethanol, isopropanol), aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylene, kerosene, gasoline),

  • , discolorations on wall surfaces , e.g. nicotine stains, are also cleaned The phenomenon occurs using direct, reflected and scattered light, both solar and artificial,

  • The paint contains silver nanoparticles, which give the product bactericidal and fungicidal properties . Unlike other photocatalytic products, it does not require continuous exposure to activation,

  • Strong bactericidal and fungicidal effects occur under lighting as well as in complete darkness,

  • The dirty surface can be washed with water and mild detergents using a cloth or soft brush. The coating is resistant to non-oxidizing disinfectants.

Theoretical efficiency: 10-12 m 2 /l for one layer

System primer:  Sil-Grunt (concrete, plaster, brick)

Latex LX Ag – latex bactericidal paint with silver ions

Latex LX Ag is a water-soluble latex paint intended for painting walls and ceilings in rooms particularly exposed to dirt and therefore often requiring washing, and wherever exceptional cleanliness, hygiene and security are required, e.g. in hospitals and other health care facilities , in food industry, pharmaceutical industry , etc.

Features:

  • The coatings are characterized by high resistance to scrubbing and abrasion as well as cleaning with standard disinfectants and detergents,

  • Properly selected ingredients make the applied coatings highly resistant to all types of microorganisms (colonies of bacteria and fungi),

  • its protective properties for many years of use,

  • The paint contains silver nanoparticles , which give the product additional bactericidal and fungicidal properties,

  • It has   NIZP-PZH Hygienic Certificate (intended for use in construction for painting walls and ceilings inside residential, public, health care, warehouse and production rooms, including the food industry.

Theoretical efficiency: 10-12 m 2 /l for one layer

System primer: Sil-Grunt

Epimal LX – hygienic epoxy paint

Two-component water-soluble Epimal LX epoxy paint for painting surfaces particularly exposed to damage and dirt and requiring protection against microorganisms . Recommended for use in health care facilities (hospitals, clinics) and in production and warehouse halls , including the food industry (breweries, distilleries, bakeries, dairies, butcheries, slaughterhouses, processing plants, etc.).

Features:

  • The hardened coating is characterized by high resistance to scrubbing and abrasion as well as cleaning with standard disinfectants and detergents,

  • The paint is certified for use in food industry facilities and health care facilities requiring cleanliness class 5 according to ISO 14644-1 ,

  • Properly selected ingredients make the applied coatings highly resistant to all types of microorganisms (colonies of bacteria and fungi),

  • Provides a durable, waterproof coating that is also largely resistant to chemical agents,

  • 1st class of scrubbing resistance,

  • It is certified by the National Institute of Hygiene as a product intended for use in construction for painting walls and ceilings inside residential, public, health care, warehouse and production rooms, including the food industry,

  • Higher abrasion resistance compared to latex coatings,

  • For places with strict hygiene requirements.

Theoretical efficiency: 3 – 4 m 2 /l for two layers

System primers:  Epimal G20 (concrete, plaster, brick, wood-based materials), Epimal Stal (black steel)
