Paints used in healthcare are subject to stringent hygiene requirements. They must be resistant to frequent cleaning procedures, possess antibacterial properties, and provide an aesthetically pleasing surface finish. The solutions we offer are PZH-approved and meet the standards required in healthcare.

Most surfaces in such rooms can only be painted with products that can be cleaned and disinfected later. This is regulated by the Regulation of the Minister of Health of June 26, 2012 (Journal of Laws of 2012, item 739, of June 29, 2012) on detailed requirements for premises and equipment of entities conducting medical activities. Facilities that are subject to increased use place high demands on construction chemicals.

For facades and other rooms not covered by strict regulations, we recommend products from our offer: interior paints (acrylic, latex, ceramic), facade paints (acrylic, silicone, silicate), fillers  , primers , etc.

Photocatalytic paints

Photocatalytic paints are a group of paints whose coatings, when exposed to light (natural and artificial), cleanse themselves and the surrounding environment. Atmospheric pollutants oxidize upon contact with painted surfaces.

Our offer includes:

  • Titanium LX Ag  – a latex paint with silver nanoparticles, which provide the paint with bactericidal and fungicidal properties throughout its entire coating. This means these properties are retained even after several cleaning cycles. Its biocidal properties have been confirmed by laboratory tests. The paint has a scrubbability class of 1 (the highest), making its surface washable. Its biocidal properties have been confirmed by laboratory tests.
  • Titanium IN  – acrylic paint, recommended for painting places not frequently exposed to dirt, e.g. ceilings, surfaces above wainscoting.

Properties

  • They remove impurities
  • They remove unpleasant odors
  • They purify the air
  • They limit the growth of bacteria and molds
  • They have anti-allergic properties
  • Easy to use

Other hygienic paints

  • Epimal LX – a water-based epoxy paint, resistant to wet cleaning. For use wherever surfaces are frequently cleaned. It has biocidal properties, as confirmed by laboratory tests.
  • Latex LX – a latex hygienic paint with silver nanoparticles. It has biocidal properties, confirmed by laboratory testing.

Dust cleanliness classes in clean rooms and zones

Rooms in healthcare facilities are called "cleanrooms.".

These rooms are always equipped with air conditioning units equipped with a special filter system that eliminates further pollutant fractions. The air is continuously filtered through HEPA filters, which remove all pollutants generated inside the rooms. Equipment located in these rooms must also not generate additional pollutants.

This also applies to paint coatings – paints used in cleanrooms should be tested in accordance with the PN-EN ISO 14644:2005 standard. These tests determine the dust pollution generated by the paint coating. If it is lower than the permissible level for a given ISO class, the paint can be used in rooms of that class.

Latex LX, Titanium LX Ag and Epimal LX paints are classified as ISO 5

Coatings made with the aforementioned paints are washable and disinfectable. They demonstrate resistance to many chemical agents (commonly used disinfectants) and are resistant to abrasion and other mechanical damage. They are classified as Class I wet scrub resistance according to the PN-EN 13300:2002 standard. The coatings' resistance to microorganisms (bacteria and fungi) was confirmed by tests conducted in a specialized microbiological laboratory. In addition to standard strains, strains isolated from Polish hospitals were also used for testing. The coatings maintain their protective properties throughout their service life.

Latex LX, Titanium LX Ag, and Epimal LX paints can be used in healthcare facilities that require ISO 5 air purity class according to ISO 14644-1. This is confirmed by report no. 01888/14/Z00NF from tests conducted at the Building Research Institute. ISO 5 class corresponds to purity classes A and B, compliant with the Regulation of the Minister of Health of November 7, 2015, on Good Manufacturing Practice requirements (Journal of Laws of 2015, item 1979), based on GMP/PIC-Guide guidelines.

Titanium LX Ag – photocatalytic, latex bactericidal paint with silver ions

Titanium LX Ag photocatalytic paint is a water-based latex paint containing silver nanoparticles, which impart bactericidal and fungicidal properties. As a result of the photocatalytic process, which occurs in the presence of light and oxygen (contained in the air), atmospheric pollutants that come into contact with painted surfaces oxidize, transforming into substances that are harmless to health and the environment.

Properties:

  • The product is effective in removing gaseous pollutants of urban and industrial type such as: tobacco smoke, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide (carbon monoxide), nitrogen oxides, vapors of aldehydes, alcohols (methanol, ethanol, isopropanol), aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylene, kerosene, gasoline),

  • The nano-catalyst (contained in the paint) also removes discolorations on wall surfaces , such as nicotine stains. This phenomenon occurs using direct, reflected, and diffused light, both sunlight and artificial light.

  • The paint contains silver nanoparticles, which give the product bactericidal and fungicidal properties . Unlike other photocatalytic products, it does not require continuous exposure to light for activation.

  • Strong bactericidal and fungicidal action occurs both in light and in complete darkness,

  • Dirty surfaces can be cleaned with water and mild detergent using a cloth or soft brush. The coating is resistant to non-oxidizing disinfectants.

Theoretical coverage: 10-12 m2 / l for one layer

System primer:  Sil-Grunt (concrete, plaster, brick)

Latex LX Ag – latex bactericidal paint with silver ions

Latex LX Ag is a water-based latex paint intended for painting walls and ceilings of rooms that are particularly exposed to dirt and therefore often require washing, and wherever exceptional cleanliness, hygiene and protection are required, e.g. in hospitals and other health care facilities , in the food and pharmaceutical industries , etc.

Properties:

  • The coatings are highly resistant to scrubbing and abrasion , as well as cleaning with standard disinfectants and detergents,

  • Properly selected ingredients make the applied coatings highly resistant to all types of microorganism growth (colonies of bacteria and fungi),

  • its protective properties for many years of use,

  • The paint contains silver nanoparticles , which give the product additional bactericidal and fungicidal properties,

  • It has a Hygienic Certificate of  (NIZP-PZH) (intended for use in construction for painting walls and ceilings inside residential, public, health service, warehouse and production premises, including the food industry.

Theoretical coverage: 10-12 m2 / l for one layer

Systemic primer: Sil-Grunt

Epimal LX – hygienic epoxy paint

Epimal LX is a two-component, water-based epoxy paint for surfaces particularly susceptible to damage and contamination , and requiring protection against microorganisms . Recommended for use in healthcare facilities (hospitals, clinics) and in production and storage facilities , including the food industry (breweries, distilleries, bakeries, dairies, butchers, slaughterhouses, processing plants, etc.).

Properties:

  • The hardened coating is highly resistant to scrubbing and abrasion as well as cleaning with standard disinfectants and detergents,

  • The paint is certified for use in food industry facilities and healthcare facilities requiring class 5 cleanliness according to ISO 14644-1 ,

  • Properly selected ingredients make the applied coatings highly resistant to all types of microorganism growth (colonies of bacteria and fungi),

  • Provides a durable, waterproof coating that is also highly resistant to chemical agents,

  • Class 1 scrub resistance,

  • It is PZH certified as a product intended for use in construction for painting walls and ceilings inside residential, public, health care, storage and production premises, including the food industry,

  • Higher abrasion resistance compared to latex coatings,

  • For places where strict hygiene requirements are imposed.

Theoretical coverage: 3 – 4 m2 / l for two layers

System primers:  Epimal G20 (concrete, plaster, brick, wood-based materials), Epimal Stal (black steel)
