Typical flooring systems (epoxy or polyurethane) require 7 days to fully harden, and technological breaks between subsequent layers should be 24 hours. What to do if we don't have that much time, because e.g. the production plant has a break only during the weekend or on a holiday? In this case, the quick-drying polyurea system Neodur Fast Track . Apply subsequent layers every 2-3 hours. After 3 hours from the last layer, pedestrian traffic can be allowed on the floor, and after 24 hours, heavy traffic (forklifts, pallet trucks, etc.)

Repainting the floor - step by step

Step 1 - priming the floor

Prime the concrete floor with Neodur Fast Track PR . Theoretical consumption per 1 m 2 is from 0.12 to 0.15 kg.

It is important that the substrate is evenly primed and that there are no dull spots. If in some places it turns out that the substrate is more absorbent, the priming must be repeated in these places. Uneven priming results in poorer coverage, differences in the degree of gloss and greater consumption of topcoat paint.

Step 2 – painting the first layer

After 2-3 hours after applying the primer, we can start applying the first layer of Neodur Fast Track . Theoretical consumption is 0.2 kg/m 2 . If the floor is exposed only to light foot traffic, one layer is enough and you can finish painting at this stage.

Step 3 – painting the second layer

After 2-3 hours after applying the first layer, we start painting the second layer. Theoretical consumption is 0.2 kg/m 2 . To obtain an anti-slip coating, the first layer can be wet-poured with quartz sand . Then the theoretical consumption for the second layer will increase to approximately 0.3 kg/m 2 .

Step 4 – use of the floor

After 3 hours the floor is resistant to light foot traffic, after 24 hours heavy traffic can be admitted. The coating is fully resistant to typical cleaning procedures. The full chemical resistance table is available in the product technical data sheet.

We invite you to watch a video showing the application of the entire system.

Advantages of the quick-drying polyurea system Neodur Fast Track

  • coating more durable and scratch-resistant than epoxy and polyurethane coatings
  • surface easy to keep clean
  • resistant to many chemicals (chemical resistance table in the technical data sheet)
  • short technological breaks between subsequent layers, so the work can be completed even in 1 day
  • possibility of quick approval of the floor for use
  • Can be used outdoors - fully resistant to weather conditions and UV radiation
  • the use of a full system (primer + 2 layers of topcoat) ensures water tightness. It can be a system, for example, for balconies and terraces.
  • the paint is available in two grays and in yellow and white, which can be used, for example, to paint lines.

Product preparation and application

Both the primer and the paint are two-component products. Before application, components A and B must be thoroughly mixed, then combined and mixed again. Leave for 1 minute, then immediately pour it on the floor and spread it evenly using a roller . The mixture should be used within 15 minutes (this applies to both the primer and the topcoat). After application, the rollers should be thrown away and should not be used for subsequent layers. For larger surfaces, the rollers should be replaced as part of painting a given layer.

Additional technical notes

  • The floor should be clean, dry, dust-free and in good condition.
  • If we are dealing with a floor on the ground, we should make sure that it is properly insulated against rising damp. If capillary rise occurs, Neopox Primer AY should be used (products on order, please contact us)
  • If the floor is damp due to frequent cleaning and it is not possible to dry it thoroughly, use Neopox Primer WS
  • If our floor has tiles, they can also be repainted using a special RO3333 . The theoretical soil efficiency is approximately 25 m2/l. It is applied in a very thin layer, using a sponge or velvet roller with short bristles.
  • After applying the above-mentioned primers, you must wait 24 hours before painting with Neodur Fast Track .
  • If there is an old floor coating on the surface (epoxy or polyurethane) that adheres well, it can be matted and Neodur Fast Track directly in one or two layers.
  • Before painting, we recommend preparing the rollers by washing them under warm water and letting them dry. This way we get rid of loose hairs that could spoil the final result.

We always include technical sheets with the order. You will also find them on our website, under the description of each product. Please read them before you start painting. If you have any doubts, please contact us, we provide technical advice and prepare price offers.
