Typical flooring systems (epoxy or polyurethane) require 7 days to fully cure, and the waiting time between coats should be 24 hours. What if you don't have that much time, for example, because your production facility is only closed for weekends or holidays? In this case, the fast-drying Neodur Fast Track . Apply subsequent coats every 2-3 hours. Foot traffic can be allowed 3 hours after the last coat, and heavy traffic (forklifts, pallet trucks, etc.) after 24 hours.

Repainting the floor - step by step

Step 1 – priming the floor

We prime the concrete floor with Neodur Fast Track PR . Theoretical consumption per 1 m² is 0.12 to 0.15 kg.

It's important that the substrate is evenly primed and that no dull spots remain. If the substrate is more absorbent in some areas, the priming process should be repeated. Uneven priming results in poorer coverage, differences in gloss level, and increased topcoat consumption.

Step 2 – painting the first layer

After 2-3 hours from applying the primer, you can begin applying the first layer of Neodur Fast Track . Theoretical consumption is 0.2 kg/m² . If the floor is only exposed to light foot traffic, one layer will be sufficient, and painting can be completed at this stage.

Step 3 – painting the second layer

After 2-3 hours from applying the first layer, apply the second layer. Theoretical consumption is 0.2 kg/m² . To achieve a non-slip coating, the first layer can be wet-sprinkled with quartz sand . This will increase the theoretical consumption for the second layer to approximately 0.3 kg/ .

Step 4 – using the floor

After 3 hours, the floor is resistant to light foot traffic, and after 24 hours, heavy traffic can be permitted. The coating is fully resistant to typical cleaning procedures. A full chemical resistance table is available in the product data sheet.

We invite you to watch a video of the application of the entire system.

Advantages of the fast-drying Neodur Fast Track polyurea system

  • a coating that is more durable and scratch-resistant than epoxy and polyurethane coatings
  • easy-to-clean surface
  • resistant to many chemicals (chemical resistance table in the technical data sheet)
  • short technological breaks between subsequent layers, so the work can be completed in as little as 1 day
  • the possibility of quickly putting the floor into use
  • can be used outdoors – fully resistant to weather conditions and UV radiation
  • Using a full system (primer + 2 coats of topcoat) ensures watertightness. This system can be used on balconies and terraces, for example.
  • the paint is available in two shades of gray and in yellow and white, which can be used, for example, for painting lines.

Product preparation and application

Both the primer and the paint are two-component products. Before application, components A and B must be thoroughly mixed, then combined, and mixed again. Leave for 1 minute, then immediately poured onto the floor and spread evenly using a velvet roller . The mixture should be used within 15 minutes (this applies to both the primer and the topcoat). After application, the rollers should be discarded and not used for subsequent coats. For larger surfaces, the rollers should be replaced between coats.

Additional technical notes

  • The floor should be clean, dry, dust-free, and the substrate itself in good condition.
  • If the floor is on the ground, ensure it is adequately insulated against rising damp. If capillary action is present, Neopox Primer AY should be used (available on request; please contact us)
  • If the floor is damp due to frequent cleaning and it is not possible to dry it thoroughly, then in this case, you should use the Neopox Primer WS
  • If your floor is tiled, you can also repaint it using the special RO3333 . Theoretical coverage is approximately 25 m²/l. It's applied in a very thin layer using a short-haired sponge or velour roller.
  • After applying the above-mentioned primers, you must wait 24 hours before painting with Neodur Fast Track .
  • If there is an old floor coating (epoxy or polyurethane) on the substrate that adheres well, it can be matted and Neodur Fast Track directly in one or two layers.
  • Before painting, we recommend preparing your rollers by washing them in warm water and letting them dry. This will remove any loose hairs that could spoil the final result.
