Anti-slip floors are used, among others, in multi-car garages, on stairs, driveways and pedestrian routes. They ensure the safety of users, especially when there may be water on the floor, e.g. from melting snow. Below we present a description of possible solutions.

Chemically curing two-component resins + quartz sand topping.

The basic way to obtain an anti-slip coating on the floor is to wet paint with quartz sand . This gives the best results and we recommend this method especially in heavily used places such as garages, stairs or sidewalks. The effect we achieve depends on how thickly we sprinkle quartz sand and what its granulation is.

The general procedure is as follows:

  • If the paint requires primer, we apply it first
  • Apply the first layer of paint after an appropriate period of time has elapsed since applying the primer
  • when the first layer is still wet, sprinkle it with quartz sand
  • After the first layer has dried, carefully sweep or vacuum up the excess sand
  • apply a second layer, but remember that paint consumption will be higher due to the addition of sand
neodur fast track anti-slip

Neodur Fast Track paint fully filled with fine quartz sand with granulation of 0.1 - 0.5 mm.

neopox special anti-slip

Neopox Special paint fully filled with coarse quartz sand with granulation of 0.8 - 1.2 mm.

Products that can be used for such a solution:

Neopox Special

Two-component solvent-based epoxy paint for interior use (epoxy paints are not resistant to solar radiation). Glossy finish. Paint used for painting floors in industrial halls and warehouses, with very high chemical and mechanical resistance. The second layer is applied 24 hours after applying the first layer. The coating becomes fully mechanical and chemically hardened after 7 days, before which time it cannot be washed with water or other cleaning agents.

Neodur Special

Two-component solvent-based polyurethane paint, available in the full RAL color palette. It can be used both indoors and outdoors. Glossy finish, easily washable surface. Like Neopox Special, it needs 7 days to fully harden.

Neodur Fast Track

Innovative, quick-drying two-component solvent-based polyurea paint. Creates glossy coatings that are more resistant than epoxy and polyurethane paints. The paint can also be used outdoors. Subsequent layers can be applied every 2-3 hours. 3 hours after applying the last layer, the floor can be walked on (light foot traffic). After 24 hours, it may be exposed to heavy traffic (including forklifts) and washed with cleaning products.

Paints with anti-slip properties.

For lighter loads, you can choose products that are certified for anti-slip properties. These coatings do not need to be additionally covered with sand. We can choose from:

eco-Farpos

Water-based, one-component acrylic paint for floors with light/medium traffic. Can be used indoors and outdoors. It is a one-component product, yet its abrasion resistance is similar to two-component epoxy floor paints.

FEG-B

Two-component solvent-based epoxy paint. With the appropriate coating thickness, it can be used on floors exposed to heavy traffic. For indoor use.

eco-Farpos and FEG-B paints have received a positive assessment from an accredited laboratory in terms of anti-slip properties according to DIN 51130:2004-06 and DIN V 18032-2:2001-04.

The final assessment of the tests carried out using the above-mentioned paints determines the fulfillment of the R12 class requirement of the DIN 51130 standard, which means that they can be used in the following types of rooms:

  • dry rooms inside buildings
  • entrances of zones and stairs with access from the outside,
  • restaurants, shops, clinics, hospitals and schools
  • bathrooms and showers, small kitchens, underground garages
  • rooms for the production of catering food (preparing food catering), laboratories, laundries, hangars
  • production rooms using fats, milk, dairy products, oils and meats, industrial production rooms using slippery substances, as well as parking lots and terraces

Another final assessment of the tests carried out with the above-mentioned paints determines the fulfillment of the slip coefficient requirement according to DIN V 18032-2:2001-04, which in practice means that floors can be painted with these paints:

  • in sports and gymnasiums
  • indoor playing fields
  • dance halls
RO2400 Anti-Slip Spray Paint

Anti-slip spray

RO2400 Antislip is the least durable protection, usually used in rarely visited places. The spray creates a rubbery coating and can be applied directly to various substrates, indoors and outdoors.

We always include technical sheets with the order. You will also find them on our website, under the description of each product. Please read them before you start painting.
