Epimal 200 is a two-component, water-based epoxy paint designed for painting surfaces particularly exposed to damage and dirt (often requiring washing) in public buildings (schools, offices, railway stations), health care facilities, catering facilities, hotel halls, garages, car washes, corridors and stairwells, and exposed to frequent contact with aggressive chemicals, e.g. floors of production and warehouse halls, wholesalers, including the food industry (breweries, distilleries, bakeries, dairies, butcher shops, slaughterhouses, processing plants, bottling plants), swimming pools and other similar tanks.
Epimal 200 certified paint - priming the substrate
- For painting walls and concrete surfaces, the recommended primer is Epimal G20 . Epimal 200 is an epoxy (hard) paint, and therefore requires an epoxy primer. Applying a soft, acrylic primer will cause the coating to peel and flake.
- When painting tiles: it is necessary to use Super Spoiwo 3333 .
- Prime steel surfaces with Epimal Stal .
Epimal 200 - properties
- It has a PZH certificate - a product intended for painting building surfaces inside residential premises, public utility premises, healthcare premises, storage and production facilities, including the food industry, with direct contact with water intended for human consumption (tanks can be filled with water 14 days after applying the last layer of paint).
- It provides a durable, waterproof coating that is also largely resistant to chemical agents (diluted acids, alkalis, salts, oils, greases, fuels, solvents, detergents, etc.).
- The dirty paint surface can be washed under pressure using detergents and disinfectants.
- It contains an aqueous dispersion of epoxy resin, durable pigments, specially selected, chemically resistant mineral and synthetic fillers, and modifying agents. An aqueous solution of an epoxy-polyamine adduct is used as a hardener.
- Temperature resistance: permanent contact - dry environment 100°C, moist environment or immersion 40°C; temporary contact - dry environment 150°C, moist environment or immersion 80°C.
Epimal 200 - food products
The paint coating is approved for direct contact with food:
- non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages with an alcohol content of less than 5% and a pH higher than 4.5: waters, ciders, fruit juices, vegetable juices, natural and concentrated, musts, fruit nectars, lemonades and mineral waters, syrups, bitter infusions, coffee, tea, beer,
- dry products: cereals, cereal products (flours, starches, flakes, pasta),
- confectionery products without fat on the surface (biscuits, salty sticks),
- cooking oils with a temperature up to +40°C,
- salt,
- sugar and derived products: honey, molasses, syrups,
- whole, fresh and chilled fruits and vegetables,
- fruit and vegetable preserves with pH > 4.5, shelled and dried nuts,
- dairy products.
Epimal 200 - application
It is recommended for painting concrete surfaces (e.g., floors, concrete structures, pillars, spans) and steel surfaces, either directly or after priming with an epoxy primer. It can also be used on other building materials, such as plaster, bricks, wood, and wood-based materials (to a limited extent).
Epimal 200 - substrate preparation
- The substrate should be frost-free, load-bearing, clean, free of cement laitance, greasy stains and dust.
- The surface to be renovated should be thoroughly dusted and degreased (especially traces of oil and grease), and cleaned of moss and lichen.
- Old, peeling and cracked paint coatings must be removed without fail.
- Fresh cement-lime plaster and concrete surfaces can be painted no earlier than 4 weeks after application.
- Matte smooth surfaces with sandpaper.
Epimal 200 is a two-component paint (the price is for a complete set, i.e., a base coat and a hardener). To make mixing the ingredients easier, we recommend the Paint and Varnish Mixing Cup .
