UNIEPAL-DREW SPECIAL FR fire-retardant varnish

Uniepal-Drew Special FR - paint preparation:

Stir the product thoroughly before use. Dilution is not recommended. If stringing occurs, the viscosity of the varnish can be reduced by adding xylene or white spirit in an amount not exceeding 10%.

Uniepal-Drew Special FR - substrate preparation:

Fill any surface defects, clean, degrease, and remove dust from the substrate. Uniepal-Drew Special FR varnish should only be applied to untreated wood surfaces with a relative humidity of no more than 20%. Once dry, the varnish forms a colorless coating without changing the color of the wood.

Uniepal-Drew Special FR - application:

Apply the varnish at a temperature above 10°C. Before starting the actual work, it is recommended to perform a small-scale test to optimize application parameters (efficiency, flow, drying time, etc.). Apply the varnish two or three times to vertical and horizontal surfaces, in a total amount of at least 200 g/m²The thickness of a single wet layer should not exceed 60 μm. The final coating thickness should be at least 120 μm. The time interval between subsequent applications depends on the ambient temperature and humidity. At 23ºC (±2°C) and 50% relative humidity (±5°C), the second layer can be applied after 16 hours, and the third after the previous layers have completely dried. If a high aesthetic finish is essential, it is recommended to apply a thin layer first, and after drying, sand with a grit > 240 to remove hairs. Immediately after finishing, clean tools thoroughly with xylene or white spirit.

Uniepal-Drew Special FR - comments:

• Coverage: max 5 m2 ^/ l when fully painted, depending on the absorbency of the substrate.
• Solubility: insoluble in water, soluble in some organic solvents.
• After drying, it creates a colorless coating without changing the color of the wood.
• Surfaces coated with other varnishes may change the fire classification.

The technical condition of the coating should be checked at least once every 12 months. Any mechanical damage (e.g., scratches, cracks, wood splitting) or chemical damage (e.g., aggressive rainfall, bird droppings) should be repaired. Do not mix with other varnishes.
