TELPOX S 200 epoxy industrial primer

Telpox S 200 is an epoxy industrial primer with a semi-matt finish. It does not require a separate primer – it contains anti-corrosion pigments (zinc phosphate). This paint is designed for protective and anti-corrosion coating of steel surfaces and for protective coating of mineral surfaces, such as walls, that require resistance to washing. It has good adhesion to galvanized and aluminum. Coatings made with Telpox S 200 are resistant to numerous chemicals, acids and alkalis, moisture, marine, urban, and industrial environments, and mechanical damage. It is also resistant to gasoline and diesel fuel.

Mixing ratio

The paint is a two-component product. The components—base and hardener—should be mixed together in the correct proportions before painting. Curing ratio: Telpox S 200 base—8 parts by weight: Telhard POX hardener—2 parts by weight. The paint is ready to use approximately 15 minutes after mixing with the hardener. The paint-hardener mixture should be used within 8 hours.

Preparation of the substrate

• For C2, C3 and C4 corrosive environments the substrate must be blast cleaned to Sa 2 ½.
• For a C1 corrosive environment, the substrate must be clean, dry and free of grease and rust, mechanically cleaned to St 2 - St 3.
• Galvanized surfaces should be cleaned with water and ammonia or water and detergent.
• Previously painted surfaces should be removed from old coatings, cleaned and degreased.
• For cleaning the substrate, we recommend an aqueous solution of Emulsol RN-1 .
• Neodur Metalforce rust remover 24 hours before painting .
• Mineral substrates should be allowed to mature for 30 days before painting. They should be consistent and free of dust, grease, and other impurities.

Painting

• Apply 1-2 coats of Telpox S 200 two-component epoxy paint. A second coat can be applied after 24 hours of drying (20°C). Drying and curing can be accelerated by pre-drying at 60-100°C for 30-60 minutes. The final dry film thickness must be at least 120μm.
• The mineral substrate should be primed beforehand by diluting the first layer of paint with Telsol POX in a 1:2 ratio.

Optimal layer thickness

• C3 environment: 120μm dry - durability up to 5 years; 160μm dry - durability up to 10 years
• C4 environment: 160μm dry - durability up to 5 years; 240μm dry - durability up to 10 years
• The optimal layer thickness on a mineral substrate is 120 μm dry
