Applications of silicone facade paint

The building elements are designed to be painted both inside and outside using water-based silicone paint.

Where will you apply?

• Gypsum, wood and wood-based materials, plasters made of minerals and polymers (such as acrylic), bricks, plasterboards and ligno-cement boards.

• External facades and architectural elements such as fences, balconies, terraces and others that require high resistance to abrasion, moisture and weather conditions.

• For older structures , especially those of a historic nature. It can be used with excellent results due to its high water vapor permeability (high diffusivity).

The most important properties of silicone facade paint

• It demonstrates impressive resistance to the negative effects of harmful substances such as moisture and salts.

• Provides a uniform, well-covering, smooth, waterproof coating with excellent adhesion to most typical building substrates.

• It protects building surfaces against moisture absorption and dirt accumulation more effectively than standard facade paints.

• It significantly reduces surface dirt, giving them a long-lasting aesthetic appearance and allowing easy cleaning with a soft brush, sponge or damp cloth.

• It contains a water-based dispersion of silicone resin, as well as durable colors, mineral fillers, hydrophobic agents and other modifiers that prevent the substrate from absorbing water.

• About 40% of the paint binder is silicone resin.

Hydrophobic facade paint

Facade paint is exposed to many external factors, such as changing weather conditions and air pollution. The hydrophobic formula of white facade paint ensures long-lasting performance without losing its protective properties. This product will maintain its fresh appearance for many years.

Surface preparation and application of silicone facade paint:

This paint is ready to use (it can be thickened by adding up to 5% tap water).

• Never add chalk, lime or dry sticky paints.

• The surface to be painted must be thoroughly cleaned.

• Loose paint, moss, lichen, dust, and grease should be removed. Old coats of adhesive and lime paint should be removed.

• Fresh concrete and cement-lime plaster should not be painted within four weeks of installation.

• Dust off after using sandpaper to smooth the surface. Holes and cracks should be filled with cement mortar on the outside and acrylic filler or plaster on the inside.

• The durability of the coating will be significantly increased by using the acrylic, deeply penetrating Sil-Grunt on uneven or absorbent substrates.
