It is important that the coating or paint used for a sheet metal, metal or galvanized roof is flexible, so that it will be able to transfer the loads. Another important issue is the appropriate thickness of the coating on the roof - if the layer is too thin, it will have nothing to stretch from and will crack, leading to the coating peeling. Lowicyn is a brand of roofing paints present on the market and used for over 20 years. These are polyvinyl paints and therefore flexible. They can be applied directly to non-corroded galvanized substrates, well-adhering old paint coatings and coated sheets. Three variants are available:

Industrial polyvinyl primer enamel for indoor and outdoor use on steel structures, tin roofs, etc.
Polyvinyl primer available in a wide range of colors. For painting galvanized surfaces. Creates a smooth coating with good adhesion to the substrate.
Anti-corrosion primer enamel that gives a matte coating. Perfect for roofs and galvanized steel surfaces. It protects against corrosion and gives an aesthetic appearance.
Ecological, solvent-free paint for protective and decorative use. For covering structural elements, machine elements and devices. The surface covered with paint is semi-matt.
Like any other metal substrate, before painting, the galvanized surface should be thoroughly washed and degreased. It is best to use hot water under pressure with the addition of Emulsol RN-1 . We advise against degreasing the surface with solvents or white spirit. These agents evaporate from the surface very quickly, which makes it easy for dirt to remain on the surface and be smeared instead of removed.
When painting metal roofs, use paints that are flexible. Roofs work with changes in temperature - they expand when it is hot and contract when it is cold. Even though it is not visible to the naked eye, it has a very large impact on the durability of the paint used to paint the roof. If it is not flexible enough, cracks will quickly appear and the paint will begin to peel off. Additionally, the paint should be suitable for painting zinc, but not all paints meet this condition. By choosing paints from the Lowicyn Telkyd S 220 polyvinyl primer, we can be sure that the coating will be durable.
When painting a roof, it is very important that the applied coating is tight and covers the entire surface thoroughly. Painting with a gun is best for this purpose. If this is not possible, you can paint with a brush, but you need to make sure to thoroughly cover all the nooks and crannies.
