Neotex ® BM-Alu Tape is a solution designed for sealing joints in various construction details. It is used in the Neotex liquid waterproofing membrane system ( Neoproof ® Polyurea R , Neoproof ® Polyurea C1 , Neoroof ® PU W-40 , Neoproof ® PU Fast -30 , and Neoroof ® ). It can be applied to a wide variety of substrates. Due to its construction, the tape is flexible and tear-resistant. Additionally, the product is highly UV-resistant, making it suitable for use in areas with high sunlight exposure.
Neotex ® BM- Alu Tape – properties:
- High adhesion and durability: Neotex ® BM-Alu Tape has very good adhesion to various types of substrates such as concrete, metal, wood, plastic and glass.
- Easy application: Bituminous tape requires no specialized tools for application. Moreover, its ability to be applied even at +5°C allows for work to be carried out even on colder days. For proper application of the sealing tape, all that's needed is a properly prepared substrate!
- Versatility: The elastomeric bituminous tape Neotex ® BM-Alu Tape can be applied to both horizontal and vertical surfaces.
- Protection: Thanks to its structure, the product offers high tightness. Additional reinforcement with a polyester layer increases its durability. Neotex ® BM-Alu Tape is resistant to UV rays and aging, ensuring its properties remain intact for years.
- Wide range of applications: This elastomeric sealing tape is designed for sealing pipes, chimneys, supports, gutters, and other structural details. It's ideal for use under waterproofing systems such as Neoproof® Polyurea R , Neoproof® PU Fast -30 , and Neoproof® PU W-40 . to C to +80°C.
- Packaging: The sealing tape is available in two colors: silver and terracotta (brick red). Regardless of the color, the roll is 10 m long and 10 cm wide.
Neotex ® BM-Alu Tape – application:
Sealing gutters, pipes, chimneys, supports, and other structural details. It is used on surfaces such as concrete, wood, plastic, glass, and metal.
1. Surface preparation
Before applying the elastomeric sealing tape Neotex ® BM-Alu Tape, the surface must be properly prepared. The substrate must be stable, clean, dry, protected from moisture, and free of dust, oil, grease, and loose materials. Any poorly adhering materials and older coatings must be removed, and the surface should be thoroughly cleaned mechanically or chemically. The substrate should be sufficiently flat, smooth, and continuous (i.e., free of holes, cracks, etc.). Otherwise, it must be appropriately protected, for example, with repair compounds (e.g., filler). If the substrate is corroded, we recommend using Neodur ® Metalforce before applying the sealing tape.
2. Priming
Neotex ® BM-Alu Tape has built-in high adhesion to substrates such as concrete, wood, plastic, and glass. However, if the substrate is poor quality, it is recommended to use Bitulat primer, which will increase the durability of the entire system.
3. Application
After removing the silicone release liner, press the Neotex ® BM-Alu Tape onto the previously prepared surface until a strong bond is achieved. To avoid air entrapment under the tape, we recommend using a pressure roller. If the ambient temperature is below +15°C, we recommend using a hot air gun to improve adhesion. If two tapes need to be joined, they should overlap by at least 5 cm.
