NEOTEX® BM-ALU TAPE bituminous sealing tape

Neotex ^® BM-Alu Tape is a solution intended for sealing joints of various types of construction details. It is used in the Neotex system of liquid waterproofing membranes ( Neoproof ^® Polyurea R , Neoproof ^® Polyurea C1 , Neoroof ^® PU W-40 , Neoproof ^® PU Fast -30 and Neoroof ^® ). It can be applied on many different substrates. Thanks to its structure, the tape is flexible and tear-resistant. Additionally, the product is highly resistant to UV radiation, making it suitable for use in places with very high exposure to sunlight.

Neotex ^® BM- Alu Tape – properties:

• High adhesion and durability: Neotex ^® BM-Alu Tape has very good adhesion to various types of substrates such as concrete, metal, wood, plastic or glass.
• Ease of application: Bituminous tape does not require any specialized tools for the application process. However, the possibility of application even at +5°C allows work to be carried out also on colder days. To properly apply the sealing tape, all you need is a properly prepared surface!
• Versatility: ^® Tape elastomeric bituminous tape can be applied to both horizontal and vertical surfaces.
• Protection: Thanks to its structure, the product offers high tightness. Additional reinforcement with a polyester layer increases its strength parameters. Neotex ^® BM-Alu Tape is resistant to UV rays and the aging process, thanks to which it retains its properties for years.
• Wide range of applications: Elastomeric sealing tape is dedicated to sealing pipes, chimneys, brackets, gutters and other construction details. It is ideal for use under waterproofing systems using, among others: Neoproof ^® Polyurea R , Neoproof ^® PU Fast -30 or Neoproof ^® PU W-40 . Additionally, specially selected parameters of the tape allow it to operate in a wide temperature range from -30°C to +80°C.
• Packaging: The sealing tape is available in two colors: silver and terracotta (brick red). Regardless of the color, a roll of tape is 10 m long and 10 cm wide.

Neotex ^® BM-Alu Tape – application:

Sealing of gutters, pipes, chimneys, brackets and other construction details. It is used on substrates such as concrete, wood, plastic, glass and metal.

1. Surface preparation

Before applying the elastomeric sealing tape Neotex ^® BM-Alu Tape, the surface should be properly prepared. The substrate must be stable, clean, dry, protected from moisture and free from dust, oil, grease and loose materials. Any poorly adhering materials and older coatings must be removed and the surface thoroughly cleaned mechanically or chemically. The substrate should be sufficiently flat, smooth and continuous (i.e. without holes, cracks, etc.). Otherwise, they should be properly protected, e.g. using repair compounds (e.g. by filling). If there are corrosion spots on the substrate, we recommend using Neodur ^® Metalforce before applying the sealing tape.

2. Priming

Neotex ^® BM-Alu Tape has built-in high adhesion to substrates such as concrete, wood, plastic or glass. Nevertheless, in the case of poor quality substrate, it is worth using Bitulat primer, which will increase the durability of the entire system.

3. Application

After removing the silicone release foil, press the Neotex ^® BM-Alu Tape onto the previously prepared surface until a strong bond is achieved. To avoid air entrapment under the belt, it is recommended to use a pressure roller. If the ambient temperature is below +15°C, we recommend using a hot air gun to improve adhesion. If it is necessary to connect two tapes, they should overlap each other by at least 5 cm.
