Due to the content of anti-corrosion and metallic pigments, the paint coating protects iron alloys well against corrosion.

Preparation of the substrate for painting with Lowigraf-Pur Structural primer

Surfaces to be painted should be dry, clean, free of oil and other contaminants.

Steel and cast iron

Subject to abrasive blasting to achieve a cleanliness grade of Sa 2 1/2 according to PN-ISO 8501-1:1996 and a roughness of Rz = 25 ÷ 70 μm. For small surfaces, manual cleaning and use of power tools to achieve a cleanliness grade of St 2 are permitted. Paint the cleaned surface no later than 6 hours after cleaning to prevent flash rust. Paint with Lowigraf-Pur polyurethane enamel for metals directly (without priming) or after priming with epoxy paint Feg-C.

Galvanized steel and non-ferrous metals

Clean from corrosion products, degrease with a 2-3% aqueous solution of a degreasing agent Emulsol-RN1 and rinse with clean water. Smooth, shiny surfaces should be lightly mattified. After cleaning and dusting, the surface can be painted directly with Lowigraf-Pur enamel (without priming)

Mineral substrates (e.g. plaster and concrete) as well as wood and wood-based materials

Paint directly with Lowigraf-Pur enamel (plaster and concrete only after complete hardening).

Renovation painting

For renovation painting, it is recommended to wash the structure with high-pressure water. Depending on the degree of damage to the old paint coating, the substrate should be cleaned using abrasive blasting to a cleanliness grade of Sa 2 1/2 on the entire surface to be renovated or only in corroded areas. Local cleaning by hand or with power tools to a cleanliness grade of PSt 2 is acceptable. Paint the cleaned substrate directly with Lowigraf-Pur enamel. Lowigraf-Pur Structural is a two-component paint (the price is for a complete set, i.e., base coat and hardener).
