TELPOX P 100 industrial epoxy primer

Telpox P 100 is an industrial, anti-corrosive epoxy primer for steel. It provides excellent protection against corrosion and contains zinc phosphate as an anti-corrosion pigment. At a thickness of 120µm, it can be used as a standalone coating (primer/finish) indoors. The price is for a set of base coat + hardener (10 kg + 2 x 0.85 kg = 11.7 kg).

Mixing ratio

The paint is a two-component product. The components—base and hardener—should be mixed together in the correct proportions before painting. Curing ratio: Telpox P 100 base—100 parts by weight: Telhard POX hardener—17 parts by weight. The paint is ready to use approximately 20 minutes after mixing with the hardener. The paint-hardener mixture should be used within 8 hours.

Preparation of the substrate

• For C2 and C3 corrosive environments the substrate must be blast cleaned to Sa 2 ½.
• For a C1 corrosive environment, the substrate must be clean, dry and free of grease and rust, mechanically cleaned to St 2 - St 3.
• Galvanized surfaces should be cleaned with water and ammonia or water and detergent.
• Previously painted surfaces should be removed from old coatings, cleaned and degreased.
• For cleaning the substrate, we recommend an aqueous solution of Emulsol RN-1 .
• Neodur Metalforce rust remover 24 hours before painting .

Painting

Examples of painting systems that can be built with Telpox P 100 primer:

• One layer of two-component epoxy paint Telpox P 100.
• If necessary, a second coat can be applied after 24 hours of drying (20°C). Drying and curing can be accelerated by 60-100°C for 30-60 minutes.
• Topcoats:
  • Inside: 1-2 layers of two-component epoxy paint Telpox T 300
  • Outside: 2-3 layers of one of the polyurethane topcoats: Telpur T 300 , Telpur S 210E or polyvinyl paints, e.g. Telkyd S 220 .

We recommend using a system thinner .
