EPIMAL LX hygienic epoxy paint

Epimal LX is a two-component, water-based epoxy paint designed for painting surfaces particularly exposed to damage and dirt (often requiring washing) in public utility buildings, catering facilities, car washes, and for use in places where exceptional cleanliness, hygiene, and protection are required, e.g. in hospitals and other healthcare facilities, in the food and pharmaceutical industries, etc.

Epimal LX can be used in healthcare facilities that require ISO 5 air purity class according to ISO 14644-1. This is confirmed by report no. 01888/14/Z00NF from tests conducted at the Building Research Institute. ISO 5 class corresponds to purity classes A and B, compliant with the Regulation of the Minister of Health of November 7, 2015, on Good Manufacturing Practice requirements (Journal of Laws of 2015, item 1979), based on GMP/PIC-Guide guidelines.

Hygienic epoxy paint

• The coatings are characterized by high resistance to scrubbing and abrasion as well as cleaning with standard disinfectants and detergents,
• Properly selected ingredients make the applied coatings highly resistant to all types of microorganisms (colonies of bacteria and fungi),
• It retains its protective properties for many years of use,
• It provides a durable, waterproof coating that is also largely resistant to chemical agents (diluted acids, alkalis, salts, oils, greases, fuels, solvents, detergents, etc.),
• It has a Hygienic Certificate of the National Institute of Public Health - National Institute of Hygiene (NIZP-PZH) (intended for use in construction for painting walls and ceilings inside residential, public, health service, warehouse and production premises, including the food industry.

Epoxy biocidal paints

• For places where strict hygiene requirements are imposed,
• Recommended for rooms exposed to frequent contact with aggressive chemicals, e.g. floors of production and storage halls, wholesalers,
• Suitable for painting concrete surfaces (e.g. floors, concrete structures) and steel surfaces, directly or after priming with epoxy primer,
• It can also be used on other building materials, such as plaster, bricks, and wood-based materials (to a limited extent).

Substrate preparation and priming

Epimal LX is a ready-to-use paint; only if it thickens, you can add up to 5% tap water. Under no circumstances should you add chalk, lime, dry adhesive paints, emulsion paints, or otherwise modify its composition. The substrate should be sound, clean, and free of grease and dust. The surface to be restored should be thoroughly dusted and degreased (especially traces of oil and grease), and free of moss and lichen. Old, flaking, and cracked paint coats must be removed. Fresh cement-lime plaster and concrete surfaces should be painted no sooner than 4 weeks after application. Smooth surfaces should be roughened with sandpaper. Remove any corrosion from steel surfaces. Fill any cracks and gaps.

• Porous substrates (concrete, plaster) should be primed with Epimal G20 , which will increase the durability of the coating and prevent flaking (do not use other types of primers, e.g. acrylic!),
• For steel structures, Epimal Stal , which will give the substrate anti-corrosion properties.

The standard paint color is white, but we can produce a custom color based on the RAL or NCS palette upon request. Please contact us for a color quote. Epimal LX is a two-component paint (the price is for the complete set, i.e., the base and hardener). To facilitate mixing, we recommend a mixing cup for paints and varnishes (also useful for dividing the paint into smaller portions).
