Paints for use in health care facilities - properties
Paints used in health care are subject to high hygiene requirements. They should be resistant to frequent hygiene treatments, have bactericidal properties, and at the same time provide an aesthetic surface finish. The solutions we offer have PZH certificates and meet the standards necessary in health care.
Coatings made with the above-mentioned paints are materials that allow them to be washed and disinfected. They are resistant to many chemical agents (commonly used disinfectants) and resistant to abrasion and other mechanical damage. They are classified in accordance with the PN-EN 13300:2002 standard into class I of wet scrubbing resistance. The resistance of coatings to microorganisms (bacteria and fungi) has been confirmed by tests performed in a specialized microbiological laboratory. In addition to standard strains, strains isolated from Polish hospitals were also used for testing. Coatings retain their protective properties throughout the entire period of use.
Latex LX, Titanium LX Ag and Epimal LX paints can be used in healthcare facilities that require air purity class ISO 5 according to ISO 14644-1. This is confirmed by report No. 01888/14/Z00NF from tests carried out at the Building Research Institute. ISO class 5 corresponds to purity classes A and B, in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Health of November 7, 2015 on the requirements of Good Manufacturing Practice (Journal of Laws 2015, item 1979), based on the GMP/PIC-Guide guidelines.
Photocatalytic paints
Photocatalytic paints are a group of paints whose coating cleanses its coating and the surroundings under the influence of light (natural and artificial). Atmospheric pollutants oxidize when they come into contact with painted surfaces.
Our offer includes:
Titanium LX Ag - latex paint with silver nanoparticles, thanks to which the paint has bactericidal and fungicidal properties throughout the entire thickness of its coating. This means that these properties are retained even after several cleaning cycles. The biocidal effect has been confirmed by laboratory tests. The paint has class 1 scrubbability (the highest), making its surface washable. TitaniumIN - acrylic paint, recommended for painting places not exposed to frequent dirt, e.g. ceilings, surfaces above wainscoting.

FAQ: Hygienic paint used in health care facilities
Can photocatalytic paint be used as a self-cleaning facade paint?
keyboard_arrow_downkeyboard_arrow_up
Photocatalytic paints cannot be used outdoors. Products with photocatalytic properties are only suitable for protecting indoor walls. In addition, the use of photocatalytic paints as facade paints is unnecessary.
Fungicidal paint for the bathroom - is it a good choice?
keyboard_arrow_downkeyboard_arrow_up
Yes, fungicidal paint for the bathroom is a very good choice. Rooms with high humidity and poor ventilation are a favorable environment for the development of fungus on the walls. If you cannot ensure a constant flow of fresh air in the room, you should act "from the inside" and this is where paints come to the rescue, coping with the problem of excessive moisture. If there is already a problem with moisture on the walls, we recommend Silanit W . It is a mineral paint that allows the walls to breathe. At the same time, its great advantage is that it should be applied to damp substrates. Its formula contains fungicidal additives. The paint can be used indoors and outdoors. Applications: dairies, distilleries, historic buildings, healthcare facilities. The paint is certified by the National Institute of Hygiene. The second product that will work well in rooms with insufficient ventilation, high temperature and humidity is anti-condensation paint. RO5090 anti-condensation paint is perfect for rooms that are periodically steamy or where water mist is periodically formed. The anti-condensation coating of this paint prevents water from condensing. A special technology makes the coating absorb water vapor when there is excessive humidity in the room. The coating releases water when the humidity in the air drops. One liter of the product absorbs up to 400 grams of water after drying! The product contains non-washable fungicides that prevent the growth of bacteria and mold. Therefore, RO5090 coatings work great as protection against moisture in restaurants, catering establishments, kitchens and bathrooms. The paint is used on ceilings and upper parts of walls, where steam tends to condense and condense. It can be applied to dry and, in exceptional cases, slightly damp substrates. This is a paint that is worth using prophylactically, if you do not have a problem with mold or fungus on the walls. Of course, places where the fungus has already appeared should be secured and cleaned as soon as possible. GrzyboStop, a fungicide with fungicidal properties, will work very well for this purpose . It is a preparation intended to combat fungi and molds in building materials such as cement-lime mortars, cement mortars and concretes. It is characterized by high effectiveness in combating mold and fungi that destroy the structure of building materials, deep penetration of building materials. It is easy to use. The use of no specialized equipment is required, so you can perform the fungus removal work yourself. It is also used for professional disinfection of moldy building walls. Effectively destroys: Basidiomycetes fungi and molds: Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus terreus, Paecilomyces variotii, Enicillium funiculosum, Penicillium ochrochloron, Scopulariopsis brevicaulis, Trichoderma viride.
Are fungicidal and antifungal paint the same thing?
keyboard_arrow_downkeyboard_arrow_up
Fungicidal paint is not the same as antifungal paint. We choose fungicidal paints prophylactically to prevent the development of fungi and mold. Most paints for this purpose contain fungicides, e.g. Silanit W. In the case of infected surfaces, antifungal agents should be used to remove the fungal coating that has already formed. One of such products is GrzyboSTOP , thanks to which you can perform mold removal work yourself without the need to use special equipment. It is suitable for surfaces with varying degrees of humidity as well as various stages of substrate coverage with fungus or mold.
What to paint damp walls?
keyboard_arrow_downkeyboard_arrow_up
It is best to protect damp walls with paints that will allow the surfaces to "breathe". Mineral paints are best for this purpose. Silanit W paint. Its great advantage is that it should be applied to damp substrates. Its formula contains fungicidal additives. Due to its ability to harden under the influence of moisture, it can be used with excellent results to renovate buildings that have not been thoroughly dried. After drying, it gives a very well-covering, matte coating that is highly durable to weather conditions and is resistant to pressure washing with water. SILANIT W does not hinder the maturing process of mortars, so it can be used 24 hours after applying the mineral plaster. The paint can be used indoors and outdoors. Applications: dairies, distilleries, historic buildings, healthcare facilities. The paint is certified by the National Institute of Hygiene.
Which wall paint should you choose for allergy sufferers?
keyboard_arrow_downkeyboard_arrow_up
“Surfaces contaminated with microorganisms pose a threat to people living among them. Dust mites, bacteria, viruses and molds accumulate on walls and furnishings. This results in asthma, allergies and infections. This applies to both residential premises and health care premises” - statement by prof. Ph.D. engineer Antoni Morawski from the Department of Inorganic Chemical Technology and Environmental Engineering at the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin. That is why it is so important to choose a paint for the room where a person with health problems will stay. To avoid the accumulation of microorganisms in the room, paints with photocatalytic properties are used. Photocatalytic paints are a group of paints whose coating cleanses its coating and the surroundings under the influence of light (natural and artificial). Atmospheric pollutants oxidize when they come into contact with painted surfaces. The most important properties of photocatalytic paints: removal of pollutants and unpleasant odors, air purification, limiting the growth of bacteria and mold, anti-allergic effect. We offer two solutions: Titanium LX Ag - an easy-to-clean latex paint that has bactericidal and fungicidal properties thanks to silver nanoparticles. Titanium IN – acrylic paint with anti-allergic properties.
