Epoxy flooring resin

Are you looking for a product that will effectively protect floors in industrial facilities, warehouses, or production halls? If durability and protection against destructive external factors are important to you, check out the selection presented in this category! Here you'll find epoxy resins for floors exposed to high loads and chemicals. Explore our offer and see why it's worth choosing proven products.

Epoxy resins for floors in industrial facilities - applications

We offer colored epoxy resins recommended for interior applications. You can use them on concrete substrates – remember to prepare them properly! Make sure they are clean, free of cracks and irregularities. Sanding them is recommended to improve adhesion, making the epoxy screed easier to spread and more resistant. For priming, choose system resin primers, which are also available in our store. In this category, you'll find epoxy resins for concrete designed for application by roller, squeegee, or spray. Their properties allow for use in facilities with high traffic and mechanical loads, so they are recommended for:

  • factories and production plants,
  • car workshops,
  • warehouses,
  • facilities involved in food production or processing,
  • laboratories.

Epoxy floor paint – properties

Epoxy resin is used as flooring in these locations because of its unique properties. Among them, it's worth highlighting:

  • mechanical resistance – epoxy flooring is not damaged even by heavy loads, which is why it is perfect for warehouses where forklifts are used or in car repair shops with high vehicle turnover,
  • Chemical resistance – if your facility uses various types of harsh chemicals, the floor is susceptible to damage. Epoxy resin flooring is resistant to damage from contact with oils and greases, solvents, gasoline, and other alkaline and acidic solutions. They can also be used in corrosive environments.
  • approved for contact with food and alcohol – some epoxy resins for concrete from our offer are PZH certified, so they are suitable for use in food processing facilities, catering facilities and breweries,
  • excellent adhesion – after proper preparation of the substrate, epoxy resins for painting concrete have high adhesion properties, which facilitates their application and significantly increases the lifespan of the floor.

Choose two-component epoxy resins from our offer!

Our product range includes two-component epoxy resins. These products can be used after mixing the base and hardener. This is best done with a wooden mixer if you're using small quantities, or with a low-speed mechanical mixer for larger surfaces. Remember that thorough mixing determines the quality of the floor and its hardening properties, so precision is key.

Which epoxy resins should you choose for stairs?

We will be happy to help you make your choice

Our store offers a solvent-free, alcohol- and solvent-free epoxy floor screed. You can apply it not only to floors but also to harden and protect stairs. We offer colorful products for painting lines and markings on floors. You can purchase them in your chosen shade from the extensive RAL palette. After application, you'll achieve a glossy surface, which you can then top with a clear polyurethane varnish – this provides additional protection and mattifies the surface. Please contact our consultants – they will be happy to provide expert advice and help you select the perfect product for your needs, in line with your individual design goals.

FAQ: Epoxy flooring resin

The primary difference between these products is their resistance to sunlight, and therefore their suitability for outdoor use. Epoxy resins are not UV-resistant and cannot be used outdoors unless as a primer or intermediate layer, which is then covered with a suitable topcoat. Some resins for swimming pools or stone carpets are exceptions, but these are rare cases. Polyurethane resins offer two options: products based on aromatic (cheaper) or aliphatic (more expensive) resins. Resins based on aliphatic components are fully UV-resistant, do not yellow, and do not discolor. Such coatings, such as Neodur Special . Another difference between these resins is that polyurethane resins are slightly more flexible than epoxy resins. Therefore, they scratch less and are more impact-resistant. These coatings are comparable in terms of chemical resistance.

To properly apply epoxy resin to a floor, proper substrate preparation is crucial. The concrete substrate should be even, clean, and free from defects, and sanded to open the pores and ensure good adhesion. The concrete itself should be of good quality. The first step is priming the substrate. Apply a resin primer, thoroughly covering the entire surface. If the substrate is found to be more absorbent (dull spots remain), the priming process must be repeated. We choose system-compatible resin primers; floors should not be primed with uniprimer products. Next, we apply the selected flooring resin. Depending on the system, the resin is applied with a roller (coating) or a squeegee (self-leveling). All products in the system are two-component. This means that the two components must be mixed together before application and then used within a specified time.

Depending on the product chosen, you'll need the appropriate tools. Solvent-based coating resins, such as Neopox Special , are applied velour roller or by spraying. Solvent-free coating resins, such as Neopox SF Plus , can also be applied with a velour roller or in one thick layer with a squeegee. Self-leveling epoxy screeds, such as Epoxol Floor , are applied with a squeegee and a de-aeration roller Spiked shoe are also necessary

Epoxy resins are two-component products; before painting, the base and hardener must be combined in the appropriate proportions (by weight or volume). Small amounts of resin (up to 1 kg) can be mixed by hand using a wooden stirrer, for example. Larger amounts should be mixed mechanically, using a low-speed mixer, to avoid entraining air. Incomplete mixing of the components can result in poor curing of the coating, so it's important to pay attention to this aspect of material preparation.

For epoxy resin flooring, the best substrate is good-quality concrete. Painting screed or anhydrite is also possible, but these substrates are more absorbent and may result in lower resin yield.

Epoxy resins are typically topcoated with clear polyurethane varnishes, such as Neodur Varnish or Neodur Varnish W Mat . This protects the surface from scratching and allows for a matte finish if necessary (resins are usually glossy).
