Resin floors

What are resin floors?

The floor is an element of a building that is constantly exposed to various loads, including mechanical and chemical ones. That is why it is so important to take care not only of its appearance, but also of its functional and durable finish.

Why is it worth choosing a resin floor?

Resin floors are an increasingly common solution that guarantees excellent durability and high resistance to chemical and mechanical damage.

For this reason, resin floors are often used in industry, warehouses, as well as in residential and public buildings. They perfectly meet all the requirements of the above places, which means that their popularity is constantly growing. An additional advantage of the floors is their ease of cleaning and aesthetic appearance.

Even floor surface

It is worth mentioning that resin floors are available in many colors, and some of them can be ordered in a color specially dyed at the customer's request. Thanks to this solution, you can get a perfectly matching color that matches the interior. This type of floor is an aesthetic solution due to the possibility of obtaining various types of visual effects, such as matte or glossy finishes and various patterns and colors.

Possibility of enriching with additives

Additives affect not only its appearance, but also its properties. You can adjust all this according to your expectations and taste. An interesting option is 3D resin, which allows you to pour a painting or photo and integrate it into the floor.

Types of resin coatings

The main types of coatings are: epoxy, polyurethane and polyurea, which differ in their properties and applications. In the descriptions of individual products you can find detailed information about their composition, method of application and functional characteristics.

For your convenience, we have divided resin floors according to their purpose, so you can quickly and easily find the product you are looking for.

Our offer includes epoxy, polyurethane and polyurea types, as well as colorless polyurethane varnishes and resin additives that will allow you to diversify the appearance of your floor.

Resin for industrial and home floors

Flooring resins are perfect for protecting floors in industrial facilities and are becoming more and more popular among private investors.

Advantages of resin flooring

  • easy to keep clean,

  • uniform surface,

  • anti-slip effect - if necessary, appropriate additives can be used, e.g. quartz sand or special anti-slip agents ,

  • mechanically resistant,

  • resistant to chemical agents,

  • protect concrete against dirt and degradation.

As you can see, they have many advantages - they are easy to keep clean, they create a uniform surface, and if necessary, you can also use appropriate additives that will provide an anti-slip effect. In addition, the resins are mechanically and chemically resistant. They protect concrete against dirt and degradation.

You can use the resin in production halls, warehouses, garages, workshops, restaurants or in a private home.

Resin floors - what to pay attention to when choosing?

Select a product to combine functional and aesthetic issues, as well as financial and technical possibilities.

  • the time we have to paint the floor - if we cannot devote at least 7-10 days to renovation and full hardening of the substrate, it is worth considering quick-curing resins. Quick-drying polyurea resin will be the best solution in this case. Depending on the selected product, subsequent layers are applied every 2-3 hours, and the floor can be fully used just 24 hours after applying the last layer.

  • temperature - traditional epoxy or polyurethane resins require an ambient and substrate temperature of at least +12°C. This temperature should be maintained not only during application, but also during the 7-day hardening period. Otherwise, the resin will not set, will remain sticky and will have to be removed. In this case, the solution is also quick-drying polyurea resins , which harden at +5°C.

  • aesthetic issues - self-leveling epoxy or polyurethane screeds are poured to a thickness of 1-4 mm. They create uniform, smooth, glossy surfaces. Resins applied with a roller (so-called thin-film resins) will always have a delicate structure visible. Therefore, if our priority is a perfectly smooth surface, we recommend choosing self-leveling resin screeds .

  • price - when the most important factor is price, we always recommend Neopox Special epoxy floor paint. An equally good choice will be Neodur Special polyurethane floor paint , which is available in a mixer system - you can choose any color from the RAL palette! Both of these products are a very good compromise between price and quality.

  • smell during application - it often happens that only part of the building is being renovated and the rest is occupied by people. In such a case, we recommend choosing solvent-free flooring resins . During application and hardening, they emit virtually no odor. This is also a good option for people who, for various reasons, do not want to work with solvent-based products. Examples of solvent-free products: Neopox SF Plus , Epoxol Floor , Neodur Fast Track SF , KLB-System Polyurethan PU 405.

There are many possible solutions, so if you do not know which one will be best for you, contact our technical consulting department. We will select the optimal system and accessories necessary for its application.

Polyurethane varnish for resins, bricks, microcement, concrete

Polyurethane varnish is a special type of finish used to protect polyurethane resin surfaces. It is a type of colorless or colored varnish that is intended to increase the durability and resistance of the resin surface to external factors, such as moisture, UV radiation, abrasion or scratches.

Polyurethane varnishes from the Neodur Varnish line are perfect for protecting porous mineral surfaces such as concrete, brick or microcement. These types of materials are now widely used in interiors, giving them a modern, industrial look. It is worth thinking about their proper protection in advance to protect the surface from dirt and damage.

Polyurethane floor varnish is also often used as the so-called topcoat for other resins. Thanks to this, you can change the gloss level of the finishing layer or protect the floor sprinkled with decorative flakes . Polyurethane varnish for resins is characterized by very good resistance to abrasion and mechanical damage, thanks to which it protects the surface and extends its durability. Additionally, thanks to its transparency, it allows the color of the resin to be highlighted, thus enhancing its aesthetic effect. You can apply polyurethane varnishes directly, after mattifying or priming the surface with a suitable agent, depending on the type of surface on which the product is applied.

Sometimes we come across floors that are used very occasionally, for example floors in basements or attics. Concrete dusting is a problem, especially in older buildings. In such a case, Neodur Varnish PR anti-dusting impregnation .

Primer resins - choose the right primer for your floor

Preparing the substrate is a very important step in the application of a resin flooring system. The quality of the cement screed and its mechanical preparation is one thing, but it is equally important to select the appropriate resin for priming the floor .
Priming has a very large impact on the quality, appearance and durability of the final coating, so it is worth doing it carefully and matching the primer to the situation.

Depending on the investment, the land must meet various requirements. The priority may be drying time, the possibility of application on damp concrete or the need to cut off capillary rising moisture.

If you want to complete the work quickly, it is worth paying attention to quick-drying primers that allow for comfortable and quick work. Another primer that will also work in this case is a solvent-free quick-drying primer that ensures a short drying time and does not have an irritating odor, which makes it easier to carry out work even in closed rooms. Our offer includes primers for epoxy, polyurethane and polyurea resins.

What to paint the garage floor with?

Paint for painting the floor in a garage , both a home garage and a multi-station garage, must meet a number of requirements. First of all, it protects the concrete substrate against the penetration of dirt, oil, grease and road salt. Another aspect is ease of keeping clean, as well as aesthetic issues and anti-slip properties.

We have prepared several solutions that will be perfect for finishing a garage floor. We divided them according to the total time needed to complete the work. Depending on how quickly you need to get your floor back into use, you can choose either a traditional epoxy/polyurethane system or a quick-drying polyurea system . The polyurea system will also work better in unheated garages, where application temperatures suitable for epoxy and polyurethane cannot be achieved.

Quick-drying polyurea resin

Resins from the Neodur Fast Track are a perfect solution when we want to finish the work quickly and put the garage back into use. The repainting time between coats is 2-3 hours, and the car can be driven into the garage just 24 hours after applying the last coat. An additional advantage of these resins is the ability to harden at low temperatures - +5°C is enough! Resins from this line are available in two variants - solvent-based Neodur Fast Track and solvent-free Neodur Fast Track SF . These variants differ only in smell. The solvent-free version does not have an unpleasant odor due to the lack of solvent in the composition. When applying the solvent resin, you should wear a mask because of its intense smell.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Neodur Fast Track Fast-drying solvent-based polyurea resin.
Neodur Fast Track SF Solvent-free version - the product does not contain solvents, so it does not emit an unpleasant odor.

Traditional resins

Epoxy and polyurethane resins also work perfectly as a garage floor, but their application requires more time and the appropriate application temperature. Subsequent layers are applied every 24-36 hours (depending on the ambient temperature), and the minimum temperature necessary for their hardening is +12°C. 7-10 days should pass from the application of the last layer before the floor is put into use. Their advantage compared to polyurea resins is the price. Additionally, Neodur Special is available in a mixer system - you can choose any RAL color!

Before applying the resin, remember to properly check the substrate for moisture and prepare the surface by cleaning it of any contaminants, such as:

  • dust,
  • oil,
  • dirt,
  • grease,
  • chemicals

It is also important to carry out local repairs, including leveling the surface, e.g. using repair masses.

If you are interested in making a resin floor, we encourage you to click and watch our video, in which we present the process step by step.

Resin additives

If you want to obtain additional properties or a visual effect when applying flooring resins, it is worth considering purchasing accessories.

Depending on their purpose and function, accessories can be divided into two groups:

  • additives affecting the properties of the resin
  • accessories that influence the appearance of the floor

In the case of the first group of additives, we are talking about products whose application provides additional benefits, such as an anti-slip effect, masking unevenness, changing the structure of the resin floor or the density of the product. It is worth mentioning that some products of this type have a positive effect on the strength and resistance of the floor.

Products worth attention:

The second group of products mainly affects the appearance of the floor and its finishing. Our offer includes products that will allow you to quickly and easily change the floor finish. Such accessories work great in facilities where design is important, but also in residential buildings, e.g. in bathrooms.

If you care about unique design, it is worth considering purchasing products such as floor glitters or decorative flakes .

Line painting

Painting lines is a very important aspect in the case of parking lots and multi-car garages, warehouses and production halls. It allows you to organize traffic, designate storage areas and pedestrian paths.

In addition to sprays or paints for painting lines, you will also find products for temporary marking, such as surveying sprays or spray chalk , which you can use to make markings for events.

Paints for painting lines

Paints for marking lines can be divided into two categories: spray paints and brush paints. All products below provide the ability to quickly paint/renew the lines. However, these are single-component products whose durability is limited, especially with intensive use. In such a case, it is worth considering painting the lines with two-component chemically hardening paints, e.g. Neopox Special or Neodur Special (wide range of colors). Line painting paints, such as Neopox Special , are specialist paints that have high mechanical and chemical resistance, making them ideal for painting lines on surfaces such as concrete, asphalt, wood or metal. It is also worth mentioning the resistance to weather conditions, which means that the lines retain their appearance for a long time and can be applied in one or many layers, depending on the needs and requirements. A very good solution will also be the quick-drying polyurea paint Neodur Fast Track .

Temporary marking sprays

Temporary marking sprays are products that allow you to mark specific areas, lines or symbols on various surfaces for a short period of time.

They are widely used in many fields, including construction, industry, agriculture, team sports and others.

Geodetic sprays will work well on any construction site where temporary markings are required. Depending on the surface and weather conditions, the markings will be visible for up to 6 months. If you need short-term marking, e.g. for an event, choose spray chalk - the markings will come off after the first rain.

Our offer includes sprays with excellent adhesion, short drying time, durability and resistance.

Essential accessories

When purchasing a line painting spray, it is also worth purchasing accessories that will make the work easier and ensure a great final painting result. In our store you will find horizontal marking templates that will speed up your work.

An additional piece of equipment that significantly improves the quality of work is a specialized spray holder . Thanks to this accessory, you will gain more control over your painting. Concrete repair mass

Concrete floors require regular inspection, paying particular attention to cracks or other imperfections.

Concrete defects are a common problem, whether in industrial floors, in a private garage or in a balcony slab. They are not only an aesthetic problem, but above all they may contribute to faster destruction of the floor in the future. Therefore, it is worth supplementing them, especially before applying resin flooring systems.

Depending on the problem, you can choose between ready-made concrete fillers , which will be especially useful when repairing smaller, local defects. Epoxol Primer SF-P epoxy resin with quartz sand.

Concrete repair compound provides mechanical strength, which is necessary to repair cracks and defects in concrete. When repairing concrete surfaces outdoors, we recommend using fillers based on polyurea and polyurethane. If you are planning work and want it to be completed quickly, we recommend polyaspartic fillers. This type of putty can be sanded and painted after just 2 hours thanks to its quick-drying properties.

In addition to concrete fillers, it is also worth considering the flexible Neotex PU Joint for filling expansion joints. Expansion joints are filled at the very end, after applying the flooring resin. Using this product, you can additionally finish your floors in an aesthetic way. Importantly, this product does not require priming.

Neotex PU Joint Flexible polyurethane filler for expansion joints and vertical/horizontal joints. The application of the mass is the last step after the application of floor resin.

Resin floors price per m2

The growing popularity of floors made using resins is a sign of technological progressis happening before our eyes. Therefore, an important question asked by every potential owner of a resin floor is the price per m2. It should be remembered that such a key factor as the price per m2 will be influenced by many components, but several of them can be determined. Some of the most important parameters are the thickness of the coating, the type of resin and its quality. In a sense, the thickness of the coating may determine the durability of the floor, and at the same time it will determine the maximum possible load that can be placed on such a floor. The type of resin will determine the place where the resin floor made of it will be suitable. Some will be suitable for interiors, while others will be used outdoors. Both the thickness of the coating and the type of resin will determine the final price per m2 of the resin floor.

What determines the price per m2 of resin garage floors?

When considering purchasing resin for a garage, it is worth paying attention to several factors that may determine the subsequent price of the preparation. The first factor is the sunlight in the room: if a lot of sunlight enters the room, the use of epoxy resin may result in its chalking (the resin is not resistant to UV rays). However, if an appropriate varnish is applied that will reflect this radiation, this effect can be stopped. The varnish application will, of course, affect the final price per m2 of the resin floor applied in the garage or apartment. Another factor is the thickness of the floor: when choosing thin-layer preparations that are applied with a roller or brush, you must bear in mind that the prior preparation of the floor should be very thorough, because such a preparation will highlight all the unevenness. Thick-layer preparations that are applied with a squeegee will help hide certain defects or imperfections in the floor. Prices per m2 of resin floors can therefore be significantly different and range from a few zlotys per m2 to several dozen or even several hundred, depending on the customer's requirements or the floor itself.

Substrate preparation and prices per m2 of resin flooring

An important factor that is often omitted in the calculation, but is very important for the price per square meter of a resin floor, is the proper preparation of the substrate. Depending on whether we are dealing with high-quality concrete or a screed floor with high absorbency - you need to select the appropriate primer, which also determines the final price per m2 of the resin floor. When selecting the soil for a resin floor, you should also remember about the humidity of the substrate, whether it is properly insulated, and whether there are any types of leaks. If any of the above is present in the prepared substrate, it is worth choosing a moist or moisture-cutting substrate in the case of e.g. capillary rising, which of course affects the final price per m2, which should be calculated when deciding on a resin floor both inside and outside. outside.
