Steelguard fire retardant paints for steel – key properties

Our offer includes Steelguard fire retardant paints – each with different parameters and designed for specific applications. After reviewing the detailed information provided by the customer, including the type of steel profiles, the number of square meters of profiles, and the design critical temperature, we select the appropriate paint type and recommended fire retardant coating thickness. This ensures you receive an optimized fire retardant system, perfectly suited to your project. We offer paints:

• Steelguard 651 – provides up to 120 minutes of protection against cellulosic fire. Suitable for environments with corrosiveness classes C1 to C3.
• Steelguard 801 – provides up to 90 minutes of protection in corrosion classes C1 to C4. Its weather resistance without a topcoat is up to 12 months, provided it is not exposed to water or high humidity.
• Steelguard 851 – provides up to 120 minutes of fire protection in corrosive environments ranging from C1 to C4. Other specifications are the same as Steelguard 801 .

Steelguard fire retardant paint – effective protection during fire

The fire protection system consists of three layers: a primer providing anti-corrosion protection, a fire retardant, and a topcoat protecting the fire protection layer from mechanical damage and moisture. The fire retardant paint plays a key role, extending the time it takes for the steel to reach its yield point, which could lead to the collapse of the structure. When exposed to fire, the paint swells, creating a protective foam on the steel surface and providing more time for evacuation and fire brigade intervention. Steelguard paints provide protection classes from R15 to R120, extending this time by 15 to 120 minutes. Our offer includes single-component intumescent paints – thin-film, water-based, or solvent-based products.
