EPOXOL PRIMER solvent-based epoxy primer

Epoxol Primer is a two-component, solvent-based epoxy primer.

Epoxol Primer - application:

• Floors and walls intended for coating with epoxy topcoats, requiring high mechanical and chemical resistance.
• Neodur Special polyurethane floor paint
• To stabilize old concrete substrates and improve adhesion before using epoxy putties.
• Before applying primer, concrete should be allowed to cure for at least 4 weeks. If the concrete is damp or at least 2 weeks old, we recommend using Neopox Primer WS .
• If the floor is exposed to capillary rising damp, use Neopox Primer AY .

Advantages:

• Resistance to alkalis, diluted acids and many solvents,
• The solvent content allows for deep penetration of the substrate, significantly increasing the durability of the topcoat.

Preparation of the substrate:

• The substrate should be dry (humidity <4%), stable and well insulated against possible rising damp,
• Free from dust, dirt, grease and oily substances,
• For degreasing the substrate, we recommend the alkaline Sulfanol A. The product has strong wetting properties and a high ability to break down fatty contaminants.

App:

• Epoxol Primer is a two-component primer (the price is for a complete set, i.e., the base and hardener). Combine both components and mix thoroughly with a low-speed mixer for 2-3 minutes.
• The mixture should be diluted 10-15% with Neotex 1021 .
• Apply one coat. After 24 hours, assess whether the entire surface is uniformly shiny. If matte areas remain, this means that the floor is locally more absorbent/porous and priming should be repeated in those areas.
• Application with a velour roller, brush or spray.

Epoxol Primer is a solvent-based epoxy primer, which causes an unpleasant odor upon application. We also offer Epoxol Primer SF, with a lower odor.

This deep-penetrating, solvent-based epoxy primer has a consistency that allows it to penetrate deep into the substrate, stabilizing it and improving the durability of topcoats. It's also ideal for old concrete and when you need to increase the adhesion of epoxy putties or fillers. Its distinguishing features include:

• hardness and resistance to mechanical damage,
• can be used in places where strong chemicals are used,
• relatively short drying time – foot traffic can take place after 24 hours, and full hardening occurs after approximately 7 days,
• ease of application – roller, brush or spray.
