FAQ: Local Roof Repair

Different sealants, depending on their composition, dry at different rates. Weather conditions also affect drying times. Solvent-based products, such as Fillcoat and Fillcoat Fibres , will dry faster and can be applied even in unfavorable weather conditions. Drying time does not necessarily mean the time required for repainting – this is usually longer, for example, in the case of Fillcoat, it takes 6 weeks. Sealants that can be repainted more quickly include: Jointex – a flexible, water-based acrylic sealant. It can be repainted after 24 hours with water-based coatings. Neotex PU Joint – a flexible, solvent-based polyurethane sealant. It can be repainted after 3-4 days with any coating.

Sealants are applied directly to the substrate. They can be used on a variety of building surfaces, such as roofing felt, sheet metal, concrete, bricks, etc. The sealant should be selected based on weather conditions and whether it will be repainted later.

If the holes are very deep, they can be filled with polyurethane mounting foam and then covered with a sealant. It's also worth reinforcing the area with Neotextile .
