Uses and properties of quartz sand

Quartz sand is widely used in construction thanks to its properties. Its appropriate grain size, high hardness, and resistance to solvents and high temperatures make it a suitable ingredient in many construction products.

Quartz sand is often added to resins and serves to change the consistency of the product and the structure of the substrate to which it is applied.

The properties of quartz sand include:

• resistance to damage,
• light form with different granulation

Fill gaps and conceal imperfections

Using quartz sand with resin allows for material savings when screeding the floor and conceals any subfloor irregularities. Mixed in the appropriate amounts with epoxy resins, quartz sand can also be used to create a mortar for filling surface defects.

The anti-slip effect of quartz sands

This product works excellently as an additive to epoxy resins and enhances the anti-slip properties of the substrate. To create a highly anti-slip coating, mix sand with the resin before applying it. Another option is to sprinkle wet resin with sand and then pour a thin covering layer over it. This creates a rough, anti-slip resin floor, perfect for spaces such as garages and warehouses.
