Neodur ® CM is a hybrid, three-component polyurethane-cement system that can be used to create a layer from 3 to 6 mm thick. Its structure allows for a wide range of applications on floors in various industries, including the food and chemical industries, as well as in parking lots and garages. It is also suitable as a leveling layer under resin systems.
Neodur ® CM – properties:
- Many possible applications: Neodur ® CM is ideal for use on floors in parking lots, classic and underground garages, the food industry, laboratories, cold stores, and places where excellent mechanical and chemical resistance is required.
- Speed of application: full hardening occurs after just 4 days.
- Versatility: Neodur ® CM can be used across a wide temperature range and is resistant to thermal shocks and moisture up to +80°C. Additionally, the product bonds well to concrete and has excellent self-leveling and anti-slip properties, which increase comfort. Neodur ® CM can also be used on substrates with high moisture content (e.g., fresh concrete at least 14 days after pouring).
- Ecology: Neodur ® CM has virtually zero volatile organic compounds (VOC) and a limited volatile organic compound (VOC) content. This makes the product virtually odorless, which is friendly not only to the user but also to the environment.
- Cleanability : Thanks to its smooth finish, the floor is easy to keep clean. Furthermore, with a system thickness of 6 mm, Neodur ® CM is resistant to steam cleaning, making cleaning even easier and faster.
- Key documentation: compliant with Commission Regulation (EU) No 10/2011.
Substrate preparation
1. Concrete requirements:
- Minimum class C20/25, tensile strength ≥1.5 MPa.
- Cured for a minimum of 28 days with all necessary measures taken during the curing process.
- The surface should be continuous (no cracks or large irregularities), but also slightly rough to increase the adhesion of the concrete substrate.
- The concrete substrate should be protected from rising damp and clean. All oils, grease, chemicals, and loose concrete fragments should be removed.
- Chips and cracks can be repaired using Epoxol ® Putty, .
2. Priming:
- In order to obtain adequate stability of the substrate and create suitable conditions for the next self-leveling layer, it is recommended to use Acqua Primer (alternatively, other epoxy primers, which are included in the technical data sheet) and then cover it with quartz sand with a grain size of 0.4 - 0.8 mm.
- Excess sand should be removed by vacuuming it once it has dried.
- For more absorbent substrates, it may be necessary to use more primer to properly prepare the substrate.
3. Final instructions:
- It is necessary to check whether the prepared surface meets the above requirements in terms of cleanliness, roughness and humidity.
- It is necessary to follow the detailed instructions contained in the technical data sheet of the Neodur ® CM product.
- Before applying the mortar to the concrete surface, anchor grooves should be prepared to prevent the mortar from curling. These grooves should be placed 7-8 cm from all exposed edges, including existing joints, column bases, perimeter walls, drainage channels, door thresholds, around machine bases, etc. It is recommended that the depth and width of the anchor groove be twice the thickness of the floor to be covered with Neodur ® CM filler.
- ® should not be applied if there is high humidity or if there is a significant likelihood of moisture occurring in the coming hours. After application, protect the product from moisture for at least 24 hours and ensure good ventilation to reduce moisture accumulation.
Preparation of Neodur ® CM mass:
- The Neodur ® CM product is supplied in 35.6 kg sets (component A + B + C).
- Component A should be mixed with a low-speed mixer for about a minute to avoid air entrapment in the product.
- Add the appropriate amount of Neotex ® Neodur NCM to obtain the target shade, then mix the product thoroughly again using a low-speed mixer for approximately one minute until a uniform color is obtained.
- Transfer the resulting mixture (component A + pigments) to a container with a minimum capacity of 22 liters, then add component B in the appropriate proportions according to the technical data sheet. Mix thoroughly for approximately one minute with a low-speed mixer until the mixture is homogeneous.
- In the next step, gradually add component C and continue mixing using a low-speed mixer. After all component C has been added, mix for another 3 minutes until a uniform, lump-free consistency is achieved. Periodically, scrape any unmixed contents from the sides and bottom of the container with a trowel/spatula to further mix with a low-speed mixer.
Neodur ® CM application:
The previously prepared Neodur ® CM is poured onto the prepared substrate and spread using a notched trowel in a single layer, 3 to 6 mm thick. Once the entire mass has been applied, it should be deaerated with a spiked roller to release any air that may have been trapped in the product. This will prevent any subsequent floor imperfections. It's also a good idea to wear spiked shoes to allow for easy movement on the floor during the application process.
