Neodur ® CM is a hybrid, three-component polyurethane-cement system that can be used to obtain a layer from 3 to 6 mm thick. Thanks to its structure, it provides a wide range of applications on floors in various industries, including: food, chemical, as well as in parking lots and garages. It is also suitable for use as a leveling layer under resin systems.
Neodur ® CM – properties:
- Many possible applications: Neodur ® CM is perfect for use on floors, among others. in parking lots, classic and underground garages, in the food industry, laboratories, cold stores, as well as places where excellent mechanical and chemical resistance is required.
- Speed of application: full hardening occurs after 4 days.
- Versatility: Neodur ® CM can be used in a wide temperature range, it is resistant to thermal shocks and moisture loads up to +80C. Additionally, the product bonds well with concrete and has excellent self-leveling properties as well as anti-slip properties, which increases the comfort of use. Neodur ® CM can also be used on substrates with high moisture content (e.g. fresh concrete at least 14 days after pouring).
- Ecology: Neodur ® CM has virtually zero volatile compounds (0 VOC) and limited volatile organic compounds (VOC). Thanks to this, the preparation becomes almost odorless, which is friendly not only to the person applying the product, but also to the environment.
- Cleanliness : Thanks to the smooth finish, the floor is easy to keep clean. Additionally, with a system thickness of 6 mm, Neodur ® CM is resistant to steam cleaning, which makes cleaning even easier and faster.
- Key documentation: compliant with Commission Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011.
Substrate preparation
1. Concrete requirements:
- Minimum class C20/25, tensile strength ≥1.5 MPa.
- Cured for a minimum of 28 days with all necessary measures during the curing process.
- The surface should be continuous (without cracks, large irregularities), and at the same time slightly rough to increase the adhesion of the concrete substrate.
- The concrete base should be protected against rising moisture and clean. All oils, greases, chemicals and unbound concrete fragments should be removed first.
- Defects and cracks can be repaired using, among others: Epoxol® Putty .
2. Priming:
- In order to obtain adequate stability of the substrate and create appropriate conditions for the next self-leveling layer, it is recommended to use Acqua Primer (alternatively, other epoxy primers, which are included in the technical data sheet) and then backfill with quartz sand with a granulation of 0.4 - 0.8 mm.
- Excess sand should be removed by vacuuming it after it dries.
- In the case of more absorbent substrates, it may be necessary to apply more primer to properly prepare the substrate.
3. Final instructions:
- Check whether the prepared surface meets the above requirements in terms of cleanliness, roughness and humidity.
- It is necessary to follow the detailed instructions contained in the technical data sheet of the Neodur ® CM product.
- Before applying the mortar to the concrete surface, anchor grooves should be prepared to prevent the mortar from curling. They should be placed at a distance of 7-8 cm from all free edges, including: from existing joints, column bases, perimeter walls, drainage channels, door sills, around machine bases, etc. It is recommended that the depth and width of the "anchor groove" be twice the thickness of the floor to be covered with the Neodur ® CM putty layer.
- Neodur ® CM should not be applied if there is a lot of moisture or there is a significant likelihood that moisture will occur in the coming hours. After application, the product should be protected against moisture for at least 24 hours and the room should be well ventilated to limit its accumulation.
Preparation of Neodur ® CM mass:
- The Neodur ® CM product is delivered in sets of 35.6 kg (component A + B + C).
- Component A should be mixed with a low-speed mixer for about a minute to avoid air entrainment of the product.
- Add the appropriate amount of Neotex ® Neodur NCM to obtain the target shade, and then mix the product thoroughly again using a low-speed mixer for about a minute until a uniform color is obtained.
- The resulting mixture (component A + pigments) should be transferred to a container with a capacity of at least 22 liters, and then add component B in the appropriate proportion according to Technical card. Mix everything thoroughly for about a minute with a low-speed mixer until the mixture becomes homogeneous.
- In the next step, gradually add component C and mix constantly using a low-speed mixer. After adding all of component C, mix for another 3 minutes until a uniform consistency is obtained without lumps. Periodically, you can collect the unmixed contents from the sides and bottom of the container with a trowel/spatula for more thorough mixing with a low-speed mixer.
® CM application
The previously prepared Neodur ® CM is poured onto the prepared substrate and spread using a notched trowel in one layer with a thickness of 3 to 6 mm. After spreading the entire mass, it should be deaerated with a spiked roller to release any air that may have been in the preparation. This will avoid later floor imperfections. It is also worth buying spiked shoes so that you can move freely on the floor during the application process.
