Silanit W mineral paint is a specialized paint for damp building interiors. It is designed for painting cement, cement-lime, and renovation plasters, as well as brick and concrete. The paint's primary application is in damp rooms, but it can also be used on building facades covered with mineral plasters.
Due to its ability to cure in the presence of moisture, it can be used with excellent results to restore poorly drained buildings. Once dry, it provides a very well-covering, matt coating with high weather resistance and resistance to pressure washing. SILANIT W does not hinder the curing process of mortars, so it can be used as early as 24 hours after applying the mineral plaster. fungicidal properties. Thanks to its carefully selected composition, it allows for the protection against fungi in new spaces, such as dairies, breweries, distilleries, and warehouses, as well as the restoration of damp, mold-infested walls in old buildings, including historic buildings. The paint is PZH (National Institute of Hygiene) certified , allowing it to be used on exterior surfaces of buildings and interiors of residential, public, healthcare, warehouse, and production spaces, including those in the food industry (without direct contact with food).
The surface to be restored should be thoroughly dusted, cleaned, and degreased. Lime, emulsion, and oil paints should be removed from the wall surface. Fill any cracks and gaps with cement mortar. Any protruding steel elements that cannot be removed should be coated with a zinc-free anti-corrosion paint. Before painting with Silanit W, moisten the plaster by spraying the surface evenly with water and waiting a few minutes for it to absorb. In most cases, priming is not necessary.
The paint comes in powder form and should be mixed with water. Slowly pour the contents of the package into the measured amount of water, stirring vigorously with a mechanical mixer (e.g., a mixer attached to a drill) until a uniform consistency is achieved. Recommended ratio: 3 kg of dry paint to 2 liters of water. After mixing, the paint must be used within 6-8 hours. The best curing conditions occur in cloudy weather and high humidity. Protect the freshly applied paint coat from rain, intense sunlight, and wind. After a longer break in work (2-3 hours), the paint may thicken; in this case, simply stir vigorously. The paint will return to its original consistency without the need for dilution. Tools should be washed immediately after use. In exceptional cases, if the paint is still staining after two days of drying, you can accelerate curing by evenly spraying the wall with water. We recommend Silanit 100 .
Do not use rusty, aluminum, or galvanized tools or utensils. Do not prime with polymer (emulsion) preparations, e.g., acrylic. Do not apply over polymer emulsion paints or plasters (e.g., acrylic). Do not paint in strong sunlight or wind.
