Which resin filler should I choose? Choose a product that meets the investor's requirements!

Depending on where the resin floor is being installed and how it will be used, you can use:

  • an addition to epoxy resin in the form of dried quartz sand - a product that increases the anti-slip properties of the substrate because it changes the smooth surface structure into a rough one. The more you want to intensify this phenomenon, the greater the granulation you should choose. Our offer includes quartz sand and gravel from 0.1 mm to 4 mm,
  • glitter for floors – we offer the product in silver and gold. It is a decorative addition to resin that looks very impressive and will work well in facilities where design and an original surface finish are important,
  • decorative flakes - apart from their decorative value, they mask any unevenness and other imperfections of the floor and provide a delicate anti-slip effect. We offer flakes in various colors: white, black, gray, blue, brick red - compare them with shades from the RAL palette to be sure that you are buying the right color! You can also mix them together. The effect obtained depends on the selected fraction and the number of flakes used,
  • thixotropic additives to epoxy resin – are you planning to use the solvent-free resin on an inclined or vertical surface? To prevent it from flowing and creating unsightly streaks, use hydrophilic flamed silica. By adding it to the resin, you give it thixotropic properties, which means an increase in viscosity and thickening,
  • polyethylene resin additive - these products have impressive chemical resistance and mechanical strength, provide the coating with a rough finish, and therefore have an anti-slip effect.

Fillers and resin additives – applications

FAQ: Resin additives

Resin flakes are a very popular way to achieve a decorative effect on the floor. They come in various colors and sizes that can be freely mixed to achieve a unique finish. The flake mixture is sprinkled onto the final layer of resin while it is still fresh. The flakes stick to the surface. Once the resin has dried, loose flakes should be lightly vacuumed or swept. Finally, it is worth painting the surface with a colorless polyurethane varnish , which will protect the flakes and make it easier to keep the surface clean.

Dried quartz sand is an additive to the resin used to obtain an anti-slip effect. Depending on the grain size and density of the fill, different surface roughness can be obtained. We use sand between the resin layers. Sprinkle the first layer of resin onto the wet resin, leave it to dry, and then remove the loose grains. The final step is to paint over the sand with a final layer of resin. Quartz sand can also be used as a construction filler for the self-leveling Epoxol Floor or as a filler to create epoxy putty using Epoxol Primer SF-P .

Only dried quartz sand should be used for the resin. The sand is dried at 1600°C. Thanks to this process, we can be sure that it is free of moisture. Moisture in the sand leads to problems with the hardening of the resin.

Yes! , you can choose the polyethylene anti-slip additive Neotex Antiskid M. It can be used with all flooring resins. It provides a delicate effect and is very efficient. It is more convenient to use than quartz sand because it is mixed directly with the resin (up to the last layer) and not sprinkled on its surface. For an unskilled user, it will be easier to achieve an even effect.

Resin glitter is an increasingly popular decorative addition. It is used similarly to decorative flakes, i.e. sprinkled on the last layer of resin while it is still fresh. Do not mix glitter with resin as it will sink and will not be visible in the end.
