What are high-zinc products?
High-zinc products , i.e. paints and galvanizing sprays with a high content of zinc dust. They have anti-corrosion properties . When applied to clean steel, they form a cathodic bond with the substrate, perfectly protecting the surface. Some of the products are also resistant to high temperatures. They can be used to replenish the zinc coating, e.g. after welding the structure. They are also very good for small jobs, e.g. for securing railings or fences.

Zinc paint - how to prepare the substrate?
keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_upZinc paints should be applied to a clean steel substrate. It's not only about degreasing it, but also about cleaning it from rust. To ensure anti-corrosion properties, zinc paint must be applied to clean, bare metal - only then it will create a cathodic bond with the substrate and be effective.
Does zinc-rich paint need to be repainted?
keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_upThis is not necessary, zinc paints can be used as independent final topcoats. However, if they are to be repainted, remember to choose a topcoat that can be used on galvanized substrates.
How to paint?
keyboard_arrow_down keyboard_arrow_upZinc paints, with a high content of zinc dust, have a very high density. To put it simply - they are heavy. Therefore, they are applied with a brush rather than by spraying. Some products allow application by high-pressure spray. This information is included in the technical data sheet of each product. When applying it, it is very important to mix the product thoroughly - heavy zinc dust sinks to the bottom. The paint should also be stirred from time to time during application.
